I did an install on my server (running off an ADSL line) and it went quite smoothly.
My only problem was that I was unable to check a new message I sent myself from an external support until I turned off the caching feature. Now it runs nice and snappy and has no problems.
I agree. Both games respond much faster off the HD. My beef with Revenge is that the autosave feature seems to take WAY longer than it used to in Burnout 3.
My Dad got one of the first ones, without the wheel, and he loved it. so when we got another computer, we got the Logitech Marble for it too. and when I got mine, it had to be the Logitech Marlbe. My brother just got a new computer, and got the one with the wheel, and great too. a bit weird with the wheel when your used to a middle mouse button, but its not too bad. Definatly worth looking into (Even good for Quake!)
Metallica done on four cellos. kicks ass... depending on the urgency of the project, i listen to one of their two cd's. Deadline approaching: Inquisition Symphony. Plenty of time: Apoclyptica does Metallica on Four Cellos. its heavy and relaxing at the same time. great stuff.
This sounds like the processor can take ANY instruction from another chipset (x86, ALPHA, SPARC, etc) and translate it ON THE FLY to the Transmeta instruction FASTER than the native chipset! It also seems like there is a buffer for waiting instructions. i want a Beowulf cluster of THESE babys...
I have to agree. MusicMatch is now shareware with unlimited rips at NEAR CD quality... you have to pay the $30 bucks to get 160 (which is big filesize for little change in sound quality). it is by far the fastest and easiest ripper i have used.
For me, when I hear a Real Good mp3, i go into Music Geek (TM) mode, and spend the rest of the day (Week sometimes) trying to find the single/CD... since i found out about MP3's, my CD buying has gone from 1 every 2 months, to about 3 a month. Of course they all get ripped... but i still listen to them... and why are cd singles more expenceive then the actuall cd (sometimes)! So all you whiny RIAA guys... stop crying over something you will *NEVER* control... and S*CK IT!!
we would need VERY fast network cards, to interpret brain waves/bioelectrical pulses into binary into networkable packet data... dont think 100Base T would be quite good enough... but when it does come, just think how good you'd be at Quake XIV!!!
The coolest case wouldnt have all the sheet metal edges that carve your hands up every time you try to expand your system. Most of the Really creative cases ive seen have been home made/improved. A good one was painted flat black, and had pink, green and blue paint splattered on it. we need a 'By Geeks, For Geeks' hardware storage section in slashdot (with pics, tuts, etc) on how to get/make cool computer containers. a cheap way to get a rack mounted case would be TRES cool. I guess thats it for me today...
The AMP engine sucks anyway... the original versions of winamp that had them were buggy and inaccurate, and couldnt handle 'skips' in the stream. The new Nitrane engine is SO much better. Ive been running it on a 36 hour playlist for several days straignt with no problems. The whole lawsuit is just pure crap (With the RIAA involved no doubt...) LET Nullsoft LIVE!!!
does anyone with a collection of MP3s actually pay for them? I know i dont... so where is the MP3 economy? the players? the only one i'd get is the Empeg car player... (runs linux no less...) I dont see an economy... do you??

Strange, that.

One of my fondest memories is playing Zork on the family C64 and having Grues scare my younger brother :)
I agree. I actually took my internet nickname from the LucasArts adventure games... The ScUMM engine.
I spent around $300 on my Nikon F series camera (used) about 10 years ago, and it is still in great shape and works quite well.
It came with a 50mm lens, and I have access to many of my dad's F series lenses (including some nice fisheye and macro lenses).
I would suggest something in the F series, as they are very solid and dependable cameras, with plenty lenses available used for it.
d00ds, Bring it!
I remember that. I think it was the Descovery Channel.
They've had that here (Hamilton, Ontario) for a while... they leave them in movie theater parking lots.
