But those computer parts are coming from the first world. That means that companies in the first world are making a few bucks by shipping old computer parts to China. There are two parts to the problem, one the Chinese Government who allows the import of hazardous materials into their country and First World Companies who are willing to exploit that situation. We cannot change what happens in China but we can refuse to deal with First World companies that profit from it. Also in this case we are the supplier, if China sudedenly adopted a zero tolerance policy against such imports the fist world companies doing this would find other impoverished and loosly regulated part of the world to dump this stuff in. So to not contribute to said problem the answer is to stop it at the source, dispose responsibly.

Optimumonline required me to buy the modem ~$300, and they wanted me to pay $20 per additional computer. This is unreasonable. Even though I already had a router and could bypass them easily I opted for DSL.

Tell that to the family of an asian exchange student who was shot in Texas for walking up to a house to ask for help and not stopping when some patriot with a gun told him to freeze.

Your going to tell me that people who own weapons hold themselves to a higher standard than the police and military do? what dream world are you living in? If that was the case the number of gun related child deaths would be non-existent. The police are not perfect either I critize the shootings of unarmed citizens just as much, but I would rather hold them to a higher standard. In our current system we can hold the police accountable but we can't hold an armed vigilante mob accountable.

I was fortunate my torments lasted from 7th to 9th grade. And even then it is nothing compared to what I read here now. By mid high school I was generally left alone and had a close group of friends so I survived ok. But even now at 27 I am still overcoming the damage to my psyche done in those 3 years. To those who are experiencing this now, don't let it destroy you by making you hate. I know thats hard but at the end of those 4 years of HS you will go to college. It's a new beginning. Depending on the school you can really shine for who you are and surround yourself with people who really appreciate you. The work place is even better.

It seems that the only way to make fair use of such a protected work is to break that protection. Doesn't this mean that software like DeCSS is necessary?
