Olberman is definitely on the left, but he isn't the raving lunatic that is O'Reilly. O'Reilly's positions are the extreme of the extreme. I only hope his opinion represents a smaller number of people than his fervor indicates.
So what time do the riots and looting start? I'm not off work til 5pm but I gotta pickup the kids and get them home by 6pm, oh and I have to watch an episode of House MD before I can head out. On second thought, I do have to work tomorrow and don't want to be inconvenienced, so lets put them off until its warmer outside as well, maybe next year, or the year after?
*Goes back to staring at the god box and doing as told.
My confidence in his intelligence is deflated as well, but mostly because he's allowing this DTV scam to go through in the first fucking place, postponement or not.
*WHY* are we transitioning to a system that is locked into technology patents?
If I was involved in whitehouse IT with the resources of the entire goddamn government, you better be damned sure there are no mistakes made with backups and data rentention. There is too much infrastructure in place for this to be remotely plausible.
Then again, if I was a run of the mill dipshit MCSE marketing toolbag, I'd probably manage to fuck it all up anyway. So thats the question, did the guy in charge (who I think was actually the guy that was recently killed in a plane 'accident') know his shit or was he just a politically motivated half assed MCSE admin with a cert and a fancy sounding resume?
You forgot to include the market for 4 year olds, my kid has been using linux for almost 3 years, no spyware infections, plenty of educational applications, usable user security levels.
The only think you might need Verizon software for is a usb/pc card cell modem.
But its not a legitimate request when it is made simply to keep the municipality in question from starting while the litigant stalls implementation. If the requests were made in advance of the municipality deciding to build a network, fine, if not, they should have been required to wait until the dispute was resolved.
There is, but there's essentially nothing you can do about it, its a flaw in the system that can't be fixed short of catapulting lawyers that ignore ethics requirements into outer space.
Not quite, the votes ARE tallied onsite, and tallied AGAIN centrally. Security of ballots should be handled by State Police and under the observation of a state judge. GPS tracking of state police trucks picking up and transferring ballots, along with physical, live video broadcasts would cover that. Its a bit excessive but it could work.
Theres only so much one can do to protect the vote, the logistics of poll site based final ballot tallying and recounts are a real pita to manage. Nothing is going to be fullproof.
Easy, you throw out the voting machines and manually tabulate votes, its real fucking easy, you have a written/typed ballot, the poll monitor records the vote on a running vote list as the votes are handed in, then the votes are hand counted later that evening, totals on the poll working tabulation are compared to hand count totals, recounts conducted as necessary.
All handcounts are done under public video surveillance from multiple angles done by multiple sources (eg. web based camera, cspan camera, government run camera, 2 LOCAL news station cameras, and 2 national news station cameras.)
Hows that sound? (Yeah, theres a few more details and possible steps to shore up security of the votes, but its just a first outline)
No suprise, its the same Gaim/Pidgin devs that act like crybabies and refuse to enable functionality when the users requested that they turn back on resizable chat entry fields after they made it 'automatic' and limited the number of display lines.
This isn't just some lawsuit being threatened, ICANN is worse than US Courts when it comes to fucking over the little guy for the big corporate interest.
I'm just gonna go ahead and end this thread by calling you a nazi.
Cheers.

Spoiler alert:
Harvey and Rachel were put in there by the joker, thats kinda the whole point being made that its joker that was pulling strings and having all the fun. Essentially, Joker was a 4chan troll that took it to the real world max. All along it was joker that put them there, which is why he know the timing when he was getting bitchslapped around the interrogation room.
However, I too was wondering about the folks that were left with the Joker back at Wayne's penthouse party.
Additionally, the fall of Harvey was definitely too quick to be rational, I understand its a fictional movie with a comic book premise, but just a little more realistic approach to things goes a long way, his fall from grace felt entirely rushed.
Cheers.

Yeah but its fairly common sense. If your house is haunted by some evil spirits, just burn the fucker down, problem solved.
The difference here is, the preload tool for OpenOffice doesn't hide itself, so people tend to close it (I sure as hell do), trying to free up that extra 3mb of memory. MS Office preload is a bit sneakier and starts up with a registry entry AND can use secret, magical, native OS calls to load quicker.
If you couldn't manually run memmaker and then modify your own autoexec.bat and config.sys then you were full of fail!
I still remember being confused that I no longer needed to load a mouse driver when I first made the switch to Win95, flying blind with no help.
Cheers.

Mandrake was nice in the early days, but Ubuntu is debian based and I'm lazy so aptitude wins.

your decision to gerrymander on the subject is an aloof attempt to cause disruptive comprehension of the litigous subjects in question.
rawr.

Thats perposterous. They wouldn't taser a five year old. However, at age six, apparently anything goes.

Yeah but the way that trained arced perfectly and smashed into the helicopter was just awesome. Albeit a bit predictable.
Best damn moment in the movie.
For the last damn time, its the tiem of teh internets kids, no more will we jump the shark, forever more shall we nuke the fridge.
