I still don't know whats going to be debated, the whole thing that started this was should creationism (or intelligent design) be taught in schools, but according to the debates website, the debate is about "Is creation a viable model of origins?" which is completely different that what started all of this.
Yes, Creation is a viable model of origins if you want to ignore all of science, religion works for some people and I'm all for that. but I want a debate over the original question of should creationism be taught in schools. and that should be a straight all caps NO!.
The problem with teaching intelligent design is that it teaches children to just give up when things get too hard to explain. I have no problem with intelligent design as an alternate theory the problem I have with it is that as a scientist when you are looking for answers to questions, at some point its going to get too complicated to understand or to gather more information and at that point you are just going to say that there is no reason for exploring this subject any further as its all determined by intelligent design, in other words it teaches you to give up, and I think we all can agree that teaching children to give up is not something we should be teaching.
Were all these protesters asleep in history class? Because I was taught that a balanced society was tried several times in the past. most notably the communist republic of the former soviet union. it collapsed because the government wasn't able to keep up with the control needed in a modern society and the capitalist movement took over.
Soon the same will happen in China, that's a huge global market bubble that's ready to blow any minute.
I mean its not uncommon for someone to create a business in their garage that overtakes other almost monopolistic business's, there are countless cases of this happening. in our capitalistic society no one is stopping you from doing that.
about the google logo it could be related to the fact that on this day in 1903, Niagera Falls runs out of water because of a drought , this could be related to the google logo,....http://www.todayis.com/ gotta give credit where credit is due
oh come on, this is obviously just a bunch of microsoft FUD going on. thats all, I am not going to belive this untill I start seeing some hard evidence on things not owned by microsoft. I mean this really paints a BAD!! picture of the AOL-NETSCAPE-SUN trio. and just what is this legal battle of MS about, its about microsoft's monolpoly, and who are the key players in it, aol, netscape, and sun. and I don't think that trio would try to beat MS at there own game and get in the same position as MS is in, at least netscape and sun is smarter than that, I am not to sure about aol though
my best guess would to change ur email in the client software u are using. I don't know which client u are using so... but I am running the windows GUI version and u can edit configuration by clicking on file > enter configuration
and change ur email there. and that will probably reflect on that stats, and I do not know if u will be associated with ur old stats and any teams u might be on. if not, try the FAQ, that might have some useless info
while I actually figured this process out on me own.. (see "how to sign up...") I would like thank you all for the effort u wasted in tellins me and everyone else that is possible wondering just how to sign up to this thing and yes my stats say 200 Keys/sec but that will change to 800, because right now I am avg. 900 keys / sec and over night, I avg more than 1000. and since I am always connected to the net, I always have this thing runnings. so its cool.
even though due to poor documentation here and at the FAQ. I managaed it. first make sure you have at least run the distributed.net client at least once, and useing the email u setup in ur client. goto stats page goto view stats. and in the participant search box, insert the same email u used in ur client, go though that, and at the bottom click on mail me my password... then check ur mail. get ur password, go back to the site, and now in ur username use ur email and for the password use the password that was in the email sent to u
BTW I find this to be an extremely ODD login process. does anyone else think so?
cough cough, I did read the bleeping manual, aka FAQ it said to get a password . but it doesn't tell u how, when I click on "edit participant info" I still get a login box, and I try, and same error.
and just how do I sign up for this any way? I am running distributed.net on my machince at work. and I avg about 800 keys per sec and always running it. I have gone to the stats site, gone though it, click on "I want to join this team" and got a usernamer and PW box, I have tried several things in it, nothing seems to work and when I set up my cleint I don't recall getting a username and password, all it wanted was a email address. so if u want me on ur team, tell me how to join up.
great news, I just read over the site and apperantly (if this information is legit) the K7 is a kick-butt chip and well worth the wait and quite possible all the hype its been recieving. but one question still lingers.... HOW MUCH IS IT GOING TO COST there are rumors going around from as low as 200 all the way up to 900 dollars, I want to know exactly the price range for this chip. AMD says that it is aiming this chip towards High end server buisness, what like a XEON I say? some xeon's sell for more than 3000 dollars, how much is this chip going to cost, can I possible afford one for my system?
while yes , as I expected the results showed off amds impersive cpu power when handling general applications. but still lagging in teh FPU scores:( still this isn't yet an optimised system, lets hope amd can optimize the frimware drivers before release and get those FPU scores up a bit. but still this is the fastest AMD cpu to date, (with regrads to the kryotech K3, gettins higher scores in some areas) I'm glade to see that this "beta" version of the CPU is really pushing for what its hyped up to be.
can't wait for some real benchmarks on this thing...
no it has to be even chips , the same reason there has to be even number of dram chips, its to fill up the bus, when u split something their is two ends, and both have to be filled in order to work, when going with more than one processor, u r esstentially splitting the cpu bus, and it has to fill both , and split it again and u get for, again and 8 and so forth
u don't need to go overboard and get the best egro keyboard, (don't get micro$oft) the most popular design of egro is by PC concepts, almost water proof, I have spilt everything on mine and after it dryes out it works perfect. http://www.cirque.com , they primarily make mouses but they use the PC concepts design with there touchpad built in (very useful when being lazy and not want to reach for the mouse) it runs for about 50 bucks and I have had mine for 3 years , and my carpal tunnel syndrome has been fine.

it would be interesting to see what cpus us nerds will be looking into next, can it be amd or intel, only the poll will decide!!!
ur not going to find a quad pentium two mother board, and if u do find one let me know.
intel didn't design the pentuim II to be used in quad config, its only single or dual, the ones that do quad is the PPro , xeon, PIII, or PIIIxeon
