  4. LED on US To Extinguish (Most) Incandescent Bulb Sales By 2012 · · Score: 1

Here in The Netherlands the government wanted a similar ban but back pedalled when confronted with the present problems.

As many people in Europe I've been using CF bulbs for some 15 years now.
Over here electricity is a bit more expensive than the price you pay in the US and we tend to have a different attitude towards the environment, like we didn't inherrit it from our parents but have it on loan from our children...

But there are indeed a few places I'm still using incandescent bulbs, mainly where I want to be able to dim.
One solution I'm going to use is in a five-arm candelabra with dual switching, either 2, 3 or all 5 will be on.
Another solution is right now rounding the corner, LED lights.
Especially the home-grown Philips LED's are getting popular, VERY low power consumption and the latest models can be dimmed and even colour controlled via a remote.

Not quite there yet but I'm sure they'll be fine by 2012.

Yes there are differences in the details of the Holy Books but the essence is pretty much the same.
That's one reason I am sceptical of a Christian church as it generally is just a work of Man, not God.

Indeed, not allowing males and females to mix at all has far greater advantages, think of an end to over population!

Joking aside, in societies and countries where this free mixing is not thought of as problematic we see the lowest birth rates.

If you were thinking of things like STD in a liberal society, this is at least as prevalent in the countries with restrictions were the only option to have a sexual adventure generally is illegal prostitution.
And men in these societies do find the prostitutes!

Another well documented problem in the restricted societies is the occurrence of inbreeding because of the arranged marriages and consequential the weakening of the genetic diversity in the population.

The greatest problem I see in the restricted places is the outright scandalous way they treat women, with the excuse of 'modesty' they have to cover up their bodies just to 'protect' them from the aggression of the men.
The total lack of respect men in these societies exhibit towards women that show their independence is nothing but obscene.
I have spend time in both systems and can tell you the liberal system is much healthier, there is nothing subjective about it!
