For this "EmoRate" program that is true but the device itself not so much. Using their app, "EmoKey", you can bind neurological impulses (I think they really doomed their product by saying it was based on emotions) to key combinations.
One application of this technology is simulating a forward feeling, backwards, sideways etc (I know I for one can send fake impulses) and binding it to a WASD setup. Setting up like this would actually help you game faster as it removes the physical lag.
I know on their site they featured a picture browser where movement in a specific direction (you train the exact movement, could be moving your head, eyes etc) will change photo.
I presume you have never partaken in the warez community surrounding the xbox 360 - with a little modding, a DL DVD RW (which most modern computers come with) and a download speed, you can get xbox games easily. Sure, it is a little more difficult than downloading a game, mounting the iso and installing, but I would go so far as to say secure
Sounds ominous - whilst they may be able to track how many instllations there are, they may over time develop it to log all IPs, map them, store uptime, etc (see: Google analytics).
That said, those statistics would be fairly interesting. They could for example develop it to tell us what % of ubuntu users use wireless.
Not to forget, too, because it has its own OS, providers can upload their own software onto the device at any point as long as the device is on.
Because of this, you get the 'extras' menu on a lot of providers - as I am sure you are aware, they are links pointing to their (high cost, we are talking ~£5 for a ringtone) services.
I've actually collected 80+ games now and agree completely, I just cant help but spend out on their brilliant offers when I have the game for life, undamagable, afterwards.
Also, this release would have been amazing had sony not removed otherOS support - cheap, high grade hardware for cheap (at least, in sales which are quite often), high quality games.
They are dumb pipes.. when are they going to realise this?
No one looks to ISPs to provide them content, except from those that choose to have an email account with them.

Move to the UK if you're that distressed about it
since the console market is somewhat more secure

The new UK government doesnt screw over the mobile companies like they did for 3G, mabye we can finally get a decent deal.
