Metro is just a bunch of tiles much like the icons on the desktop, so basically the metro start menu is just another desktop that is used to launch programs. For years administrators have been looking at the clutter and the state of disaster that is most users desktop and told them it's bad. Now MS has come out and given users the clutter right out of the box. I know this has been said but I agree with it in total that Windows 7 was just a mature OS. Seeing where my IT lively-hood is going, I just want out. I expect to put up with dumb users, but the reroll that MS is doing every other Windows release is getting old.

Yeah like my vote carries more weight than my dollar. The only goal of Government is make sure the group in power stays in power, and that's the only thing we remotely have power over (and it ain't much). At least with Private tyrannies I can choose which I want to belong to (coke vs. pepsi vs. water). However when the government reflects the "intrests of the people" we ALL get screwed. We all lose the ability to decide what is safe (wear a seat belt, helmet, drugs and their availability, sale of raw milk), what we can do with our body (prostitution, sell my organs), what you can do with your money (I have 2 choices of companies to buy health ins. from, don't tell me competition doesn't work because it hasn't been tried, can't buy alcohol in a dry county), what is moral ( marriage (what sex and how many I can have), can't sell alcohol/sex toys in some places, what movie I can watch/make) Do I agree with some of those decisions sure because they work for me, but I think we should be able to make decisions for ourselves rather than having the decisions decided at the point of a gun.

Ok literacy test may be a bit far. Still if the voters don't comprehend the position they are voting to fill, or know of any reason why they should be voting for someone to fill said position then it does us all an injustice including the village idiot.

BTW - True democracy is 2 men and a woman on an island voting on weather or not non-consensual sex is ok. Luckily we live in a republic.

Ok this will never happen, but..... we shouldn't have a "Multiple Guess" ballot. People should be educated and informed enough before they walk in the door. Upon entering each voter should be handed a ballot (a blank piece of paper) where they need to list the candidate they want elected and for what position they want them elected. They also need to list 3 reasons they want them elected. "Ballots" should be water marked to ensure that voters aren't just using the a given parties cheat sheet. A cheat sheet can be brought in, but must be hand copied. If you're illiterate too bad. If you have a doctors note indicating a disability where it's not possible to write dictation should be available. ahh well

The religious freaks are flat out fucking wrong. There is nothing wrong with using someones own stem cells to attempt to cure them, and only outrageous stupidity/subhumanism could make such a claim.

If you are commenting on the groups that believe that embryonic stem cells can't be used because they are harvested from fetuses from abortions or harvested in a way that equates to it then you are the poster boy for "outrageous stupidity" and an ignorant asshole to boot. Oh yes and "flat out fucking wrong" yourself. These groups actually support stem cell research when "using someones own stem cells". I there is a group that believes what you say the would be an extreme fringe and unable to influence policy anyway. If I'm wrong I apologize but "subhumanism" for standing up for what you believe is the slaughter of the innocent. Is a bit strong.
