You know, I've always wondered why that doesn't happen more often. It's a much easier target, and the actual terror potential is much higher. It's one thing to be afraid to fly, and another to be afraid to leave your house.
When social security has been mismanaged to the point where I will get no return on the money I've been legally forced to hand over for my entire career, yes I do consider social security to be a handout.
I believe they're capable of working on both goals simultaneously, and it's entirely possible ideas developed in the creation of a tablet could lead to a better phone OS. Also, it's in no one's best interest for Apple to become entrenched as the only game in town for a decent tablet.
And I'm sure this better system for less cash will also play 360 or ps3 games, right? No? Then that's why people would want them to support those systems, because they already own them.
"just an analogy to one particular thing that they did; rewriting history by obfuscating the truth"
Where in god's name did you get that idea? Godwin's law is a humorous statement that the longer a thread/discussion becomes the more likely a Nazi comparison becomes, and is to dissuade people from making glib comparisons to Nazis with stupid hyperbole. It's got nothing to do with rewriting history or obfuscating truth.
I doubt it. Legendary Pictures has a better than decent track record, and they are associated with the Warcraft movie in development, and Boll was told in no uncertain terms to f off when he expressed interest in directing that.
But if the point of speech is to convey an idea, isn't it counterproductive to refuse to use the most common meaning of a phrase because it's not "proper"?
I understand wanting to prevent the english language from being reduced to meaningless nonsense, but sometimes you have to use a phrase the way it's more commonly understood if you want to get your point across without confusing people, whether it fits the original meaning or not.
Your own wikipedia link indicates that using it as a synonym for raising the question is increasingly common, and that there's debate over whether the usage should be considered correct or not.
In a comment the other day someone pointed out that the RIAA etc. hardly ever go after any major distributors of their work, preferring to target individual end users, because judgements against people responsible for thousands of instances of copyright infringement would make it obvious how absurd the damages awarded per instance were.
However: "The RIAA has said it is entitled to the maximum statutory damages, which is $150,000 for each registered work that was infringed. The number of infringing works they could try to claim is likely in the millions." from http://news.cnet.com/8301-31001_3-20004811-261.html
So basically the RIAA believes they're entitled to a multi trillion dollar damages award?
Wasn't their original argument that Youtube was violating the safe harbor because they knowingly post videos that are copyrighted? Now they're claiming that Youtube doesn't even qualify for safe harbor? Shouldn't they have STARTED with that?
Unsurprisingly no mention is made of reduced fees for people consuming less bandwidth. I guess "usage based pricing" sounded better than "we're capping monthly bandwidth and charging if you go over".
Am I the only one who read the article title and at first thought that health experts had literally attacked a video game camp? Chubby sun blinded children cut down like wheat, PS3's and Xboxes thrown in a bonfire, etc.
I mean it's not exactly startling that your direct competition doesn't want you advertising on their device.
Oh come on, with the amount of work done here this guy deserves better than a +3

I can't believe I had to go this far down the thread to find a Daredevil reference

Wow, that's...terrifying.
Agreed, I can't find any other source for this news, and it's pretty bizarre to be quoting a tabloid as a source. Unless you're the Men in Black.
I'll admit, somewhat shamefully, that when I saw "Foxconn" and "killer" I thought you were going in an entirely different direction...

Exactly. They're dropping support for the only thing they're known for, and happily moving forward into obscurity apparently.

Don't go spreading it around
Just out of curiousity, what sort of job experience, schooling, certification etc. would they be looking for for jobs at these data centers?

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

I've never owned one of their cards but HardOCP always seemed to think highly of their products, from quality to support.
Almost off topic, but why are the estimated numbers of cell phone subscribers coming from the CIA? It seems an odd source.
Or the price fixing will sort out the market. Either way.
