Tax Code is Government inefficiency at its best (or worst). Cutting rate and loopholes is good for the economy, because we (collectively) will spend less trying to avoid taxes, and just pay up (hopefully). Streamlining government is not something government wants to do. The bureaucracy resists. Just try to fire 10% of the government... it cannot be done, yet this would be the best thing we could do.
The problem is, many people DO pay Federal Income Taxes, but don't quite realize how much. Federal Withholding is the biggest fraud of them all. I know a whole bunch of people that think they are "getting money back" when they are really "paying".
I think that everyone should have to write the withholding's every month, on the day they get paid, so that they feel the pain of paying Uncle Sam. AND I think those that pay "no income taxes" at all, not even withholding, because they don't have a job, should pay SOMETHING every April 15th, even if it is $5.
All legal adult people should have to write a check to the government. And by write a check, I mean physically fill out the paper slip (or insert $5 bill, 5 ones etc) and mail it in.

This is a problem, but not with privacy, but with impersonation. Banks (and those like them) that take phony credentials to allow people to open up lines of credit and rip people off. The fix for this is painful, but really necessary, make banks eat the cost without being able to write it off as a cost of business. It isn't a cost of business, it is complicity in fraud.

Xbox is to sell Windows boxes. Period. Microsoft marketed XBoxes to developers as "write once, run on Xbox and Windows". And to a large degree, if you can buy a game on Xbox, you can find the same title for Windows. Playstation, Wii, Sega, Gamecube etc all have no such crossover effect.
Xbox was to keep gaming on Windows, and not lose developers to other manufacturers.

I was at Walmart last night (cheap DVDs) and saw the sales guy talking about iPads and Nexus 7" to a lady that bought the Nexus 7". It was a better fit, and a price point that Apple can't match. They are getting eaten alive at the bottom.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has NOTHING. Not the High End (going away), nor at the low end (Nexus 7") They have no place to go.
