Your #1 flaw in your presumption is you assume that the government has a RIGHT to collect taxes. It does not have that right. It is a necessary evil that we collect taxes, and everyone, everywhere should do everything in their power to avoid taxes, and keep their own money. I would consider it a duty of the citizen to avoid all taxes as legally possible.

Taxes are regressive. All of them.

To be honest, the LGBT community is starting to wake up to the fact that the hodgepodge amalgamation of "united" interests that forms the Democratic/Progressive movement may not actually suit their interests. In the aftermath of the Orlando shooting, the "progressive" anti-gun bits of the LGBT community pretty much disappeared.

My suggestion for the LGBT community is to look at the Libertarian Party, which views rights not as only for specific"Groups" but as absolutes for individuals.

I suspect that LGBT people will someday realize that Progressive politics hasn't and isn't suiting their real interests.

FYI, they also measure outcomes differently in different countries, so that even if the statistics are correct, they are measuring entirely different datasets.

For instance, it is often touted that infant mortality rates are lower in certain countries. While that Statistic is accurate as a statement, the two countries are measuring it differently. In the US, Premature births of all types and kinds are included, where they are not in other countries. And if you include premature birth rates, the Actual statistics flip.

If people die of cancer waiting for treatment, and they aren't counted as "cancer patients" because they never were.

Statistics are meaningless unless they are being used the exact same way across the board, and they are not.

In this case, the "idiot" was the guy comparing the F35 (Fighter) to the A10(Attack) that I was originally responding to. Just to illustrate: "You say that like an Air Force Puke, I suppose you also think the F35 can replace the A10 too!" My guess, is he doesn't really know the difference between A and F aircraft, or else he wouldn't have conflated the roles like he did.

Or, as my daddy used to say ... F35 (or other) fly high and fast, so that the A10 can fly low and slow.

Getting shouted down as "hater", "Homophobic", "Racist" for everything is censorship. In some ways it is worse than official censorship (often in the form of PC edits, see Orlando 911 transcript fiasco). It disables legitimate conversations based on emotional kneejerk responses. And it works, as enough people don't care about PC based censorship, because it is "their form" of censorship, not the other guy's form (bullet head).

As for Moderation, i get enough Mod points that it doesn't really matter, but I usually use my 5 Mod points as follows +1 Funny, +3 Insightful/Interesting, -1 Troll/whatever. I tend to mod ACs down more often than not. And nobody gets a -1 "I don't agree", because I should be able to explain myself better so that it is obvious. ;)

The problem for Microsoft is, they think they can bully people into their way of doing things, when the reality is that there are more reasons now than ever to avoid using MS crap.

I would suggest to you, that while not your fault, the accident was avoidable in the first place, by having situational awareness. I will give my best example, real life , it happened example.

Traveling down a highway at normal highway speeds (70MPH/112kmh) in normal to moderate traffic. Truck ahead of me, has a sheet of plywood catch air and fly off the flatbed. The plywood was about 30-40 ft into the air, heading straight for my vehicle. I had very little room to maneuver, however, I was able to swerve just enough that the plywood just grazed the car, narrowly missing my pregnant (at the time) wife, who was in the passenger seat.

Completely random event. Unexpected in just about every measure of the word. And while some may say that I was lucky, it wasn't entirely luck that avoided the accident. Driving skill, and situational awareness allowed me to avoid major damage, which certainly would have happened if I was not paying attention.

  17. Blancco isn't just capitalizing on ignorance, it is a tool for people who need reports on each drive's wipe. Anyone can do a dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev:sdb (or similar) but can you report back that it was actually done, in a certified report? Blancco can, and that is a major and valid selling point.

On the otherhand, you can just degauss the damn drive and ruin it without breaking it with a hammer. http://www.garnerproducts.com/

-1 = "I don't like your opinion, you're a troll" far too often. Politically incorrect wording of a factual statement is likely to be modded -1 almost all the time. The issue is that the system needs more Meta Moderation, so that people who are wounded by chalk marks aren't allowed to get Mod points very often, leaving the discussion to people who are adults who merely disagree on a particular subject.

Political Correctness is censorship, and the worst kind.
