When/. posted about the hamburger-making robot. It was pointed out that the robot's arm was way too complexe for the job and seemed to be there to impress. I feel the same way about this one.
Granted, five-finger dexterity is impressive (how else could a robot flip someone the bird?), but for the tasks which this thing is supposed to accomplish, wouldn't a claw be cheaper/lower maintenance/logical?
I've been building with legos my entire life... I never tire of them. I quit expanding my personal collection, however, about ten years ago when they started shipping castle sets with huge grey pieces that made building walls easy. These same pieces though, could not be used to build, say, a grey tank, or the battlements to a different castle (if I had run out of "twoies". they could only be used for walls. (Sounds M$-ish.)
These bulk orders are only on basic blocks, the mainstay of lego engineering. this is a huge boost for the creativity of minds yound and old.
Correct, but it should be easy for M$ to convince the court that no real harm to consumers was proven in the original case. They don't have to prove their innocence, they only have to prove that the last trial was somehow screwed up.
They could have fudged the last trial on purpose so they could sneek by on a technicality.
I put one up on a site with photos from a family vacation. My mother did not find one shot humorus, but it had to be posted (bathroom humor), so I link a.gif that was the same color as the backgroung and linked it for my siblings who did find it funny.
That's not original of me, though no other sites come to mind off hans.
My favorite Egg was the +30 lives for Konami's Contra on the NES. It was something like, up-up-down-down-left-right-A-B-start. Although not open source, it helped to pass an otherwise impossible game.
For those of us who actually/want/ a family life, the attitude in today's workplace is detrimental. Being willing to relocate takes on a whole new meaning with a spouse and kids. In so doing, we trade the intangible communities of the new economy with the old school neighborhoods and classrooms.
I can lease a car, rent a house, and contract out my work, but I cannot (read will not) sacrifice in anyway that which is most important to me: my Family.
Can it be good if it's built for a certain Chip?

We all disagree with M$ because it means locking yourself down to one software vendor. If an OS is CPU-specific, doesn't that mean you will always have to buy Intel, or change OS?
The gov there is socialist (just ask the guy who tried to privatise Air-France), and the people aren't especially hard workers, but they love their rights and are slow to get involved with other's business. Perhaps their laziness pays off here and the over-zealous American WASP work ethic is detrimental.
As long as $$ is exchanged over the internet, crime will be there, and we need a way to protect each other. However, ruling one land by another's law is not the proper path. Perhaps an international delegation would be better.
It's sad that Gates is still spewing smoke about M$ needing to be in one piece to prevent this sort of thing. I write JavaScript everyday and could have done this if I had thought about it (maybe I'm not malicious enough).
What's even more sad is that he keeps doing it because he knows people believe him, and click things that erase their HD.
I agree wholeheartedly. A lot of naysayers are predicting that Linux will act just like M$ when its time comes, but we're all hoping that it stays true to its fonding principles.... Life, Liberty.... er, yeah.
One of the way to be sure that Linux's penquin head doesn't inflate the way Gate$' has is to keep and support viable competition.
I designed the HTML-based system which lists all the cancer-causing agents onsite and warns ALL EMPLOYEES of what they're working with. This is done, and has been done, in accordance with CA Prop65. These suits are faulted because the employees are strongly encouraged to review this information. In fact, I trained the day and the night shift myself several years ago on how to access this informaiton. I live near the site of the old Fairchild plant. It stood for years after it was vacated because no one wished to own the chemical rights to the land.... There is now a shopping center on the site. My younger brother suffered from mild birth defects and glandular disorders due to water poisoning at the time my mother carried him here in SJ - Fairchild was to blame. Yet, oddly, he is now a CS major and working the summer at a tech firm. He knows the risks, and knows how to avoid them. And he doesn't blame anybody for his situation.

Send this news to your local media relations and get some air time for us. Bay Area channels 5 (KPIX), 11 (KNTV), 2 (KTVU), etc. would be great.
Also, if someone could find the email address of the Mercury News & SF Chronicle, that'd get us some coverage as well.
We'll never do any good until people outside of our little circles are well informed about what the DMCA means to them.

How would I go about changing my domain name which my ISP registered under NS?

Some would say that all mass media only exists to expose us to advertisements. This wasn't the case for the internet, but it is now. -jt
What is MP?
