for example: what if someone managed to figure out a way to turn a simple junk nintendo into a functioning *nix terminal, thereby saving it fro becoming yet more landfill and allowing people who might not otherwise have access to do so...
This morning, Microsoft, Bungie and Take2 Interactive announce a complex deal that ends in Bungie as a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft, and Take2 as the owner of Oni and Myth. The deal has been in the works for months now and leaked to the Internet last week, with forums and chat boards dedicated to Bungie's games filled with debate about the accuracy of what was, until now, a rumor. It's rumor no longer: Microsoft is buying Bungie

you are right on the front of weapons being easier to use, however, the idea that there was EVER a time 'in the good ole days' when 'we just had better morals, durnit' is preposterous. crack any history book that even attempts to explore the human condition in a given period (finding them is a feat in and of itself..)and you will rapidly come to the conclusion that NOW is the least dark time in 'known' human history.
There are thousands of people out there armed with little more than a record player and a cheap computer or sampler who sample and re-contextualize old recordings everyday. many share their samples on the net. Whole new music styles have manifested from this, and existing ones have mutated to assimilate the new ideas.
you're right! so much for amerika.. we should all LEAVE and make our own durned nation somewhere else! then we can sacrifice all the firstborn and sheep and such god needs to stay healthy and strong. OOH! we'll also get to treat our wives and daughters like the 'weaker vessels' they are! WOO! hopefully there'll be some yummy NATIVES there to oppress and enslave in the name of the LORD(tm) just like in the old days before alla this humanist logic and stuff. c'mon everyone! lets pack!
aaw come on. you're just being paranoid. nanoflaccid just wants to be able to innovate! they'd NEVER pull a dirty trick like what you describe. i mean, just look at how sweet and innocent and nerdy bill is with a dick's burger(tm) in one hand and large coke(tm) in the other..wouldn't hurt a fly..
I'm an electronic musician, and i would be stoked to see my own tracks show up on a Napster search. means someone liked it enough to share, and a wider audience would hear it. from a 'big money' perspective, the amount of money 'lost' by even a big name artist is negligible compared to how much they are making, and more importantly how much the record company is making _off_ them.
clearly you have no idea what you are talking about. in reality the opposite is true, support has been,is, and shall continue to grow for the platform, esp since the codebase is now opensource and based upon BSD/Mach. for a current listing of mac compatible products go to: http://guide.apple.com/usindex.html _please drive through_
