My optus account has gone over the limit every month and the banwidth has never been reduced. I don't know if Optus is actually enforcing this. Has this happened with anyone else?
Ack, very primitive sp I'd say. I just keept running out of ammo and dying. The stupid maps start with mosters running at you. However, I like the idea of plenty of mosters, it kinda reminds me of doom.
Instead of sending back thousands of dollars of software, why not spend a few dollars and get an IDE cd rom?

I've been meaning to check out k-meleon again (http://www.kmeleon.org/) it's a native interface to Gecko. It would prolly be inline with IE speed, though I havent tried it for a while.
Anyway, each to their own. I don't assume Mozilla is the best at everything.

I don't find Moz any slower or bloated than IE. It's a hell of a lot more useable though.
If it's too slow for you than by a Duron 950 like I did, they cost next to nothing.
Bloated? A ten meg download that includes browser, mail, news, irc client? And I don't know what machine you are using, but Moz is as snappy as anything else on my computer. I'm sorry, but nothing about this excellent peice of software seems bloated or slow to me. This is by far the best web browser I've ever used IMHO.
It's a choice, and choice is always a good thing. Beleive me, even thought you don't want one there are plenty of other people who do (and apparently can afford it, alas I cannot). Don't be so negative.
I think it's true that when people upgrade their CPU they usually upgrade the motherboard. I just went from a K6-2 300 to a Duron 900 for example, so I couldn't keep the old one anyway, so I may as well of had a soldered on CPU. And that becomes more inportant on these kind of small production run motherboard where keeping the cost down is important.
Its not a socket. The PowerPC doesn't come with pins on the bottom it has little balls apparently, so it needs a special 'socket' that holds the cpu down, completely different to what x86 CPU's use. I don't know where you got the '600 bux for the G4/700Mhz', that wasn't stated anywhere.
As an Australian I'm just sick of seeing "Australia" this and "Australia" that in every other slashdot article. Please just forget about us, we're not even on you're half of the earth.
Apparently they sell more Amiga ports then they do Linux.
The sun rises in the east, so I'm pretty sure the cable would fall back west and not forward.
If the wire is thin then doesn't that mean the chances of anything hitting it are pretty thin?
Yeah, why do anything thats times time and effort!

Thats not a bare motherboard, it includes the CPU. Can't you read?
Apparently they should be available before xmas.
A Stoor is just a family. Like Brandybuck, or Baggins, they are still the same species! Just older, older families.

Frodo never offered the ring to Elrond. He said to Aragorn "then the ring belongs to you" when the Isildurs heir thing sunk in.

Oh, damn it. I didn't see the Mac OSX title, I only read the body of your text. I was of course talking about the windows version on my Duron 950.

Hey, I'm using Kazza, strangely enough I had the common sense not to install the 'extra' programs. Nothing wrong with Kazza users, leave them alone.

Running Linux is no reason to buy this thing! The reason is to run AmigaOS.
:(
I think the PPC is much more 'simple and effective' than the x86. But also more expensive
These will be produces by the few thousands by a small company, so yeah it has a lot to do with demand and bulk and the price of PPC chips.
Aint no AROS PPC port yet AFAIK.
If they dropped the price to under $300 then they'd be loosing money and that would be silly.
