Grow a set and demand that they honor your purchase. A company will never "give" you what your owed (regardless of who's mistake it is), you have to take it. Is this the first purchase you've made from a for-profit company?
I didn't see it already posted and I'm surpirsed. The Klipsch Promedia V2-400 is the best you can currently get. It costs about $250 and includes the following:
4 60 watt satillites.
1 160 watt twin driver sub.
I love these speakers. I mean I love them. They are crisp and brother they are LOUD. Some people complain of a slight hiss from these speakers, but I have not had that problem. I like these so much I bought a second pair. 800 watts of power baby!
You can order them from the Klipsch website.

Self-interest=Pursuit of Money, Sex, Power or Reputation
Given that premise, I don't believe artist is thinking money when they do their work. If they are (like Metallica) they tend to be looked down upon by the general public. Hence the term "Selling Out". I would argue that, if anything, they are thinking Fame (or Reputation). For any philosophy buffs, they will recognize this self-interest argument I'm using here. That argument states that any of the big four (Money, Sex, Power & Reputation) can be traded for the other. So a famous artist that distributes his work free via mp3s and trade that fame for money. Selling his/her work is completely unnecessary. Once they are famous they do personal appearances, sponsor products whatever they can think of, to simply trade that fame for Money, Sex or Power. I'm taking a step back here and wondering why the artist needs to be paid upfront. Good art will generate fame.
Another note: I have to agree that, even being a somewhat new/.er, this article is poor considering its basically a rehash of what was out last week. Instead of stating the obvious, lets go for some fresh angels.
This is probably a wasted post since it will remain a 1, but anyway.... I have never used Napster. Neverwill. If they get shut down, I don't care. Boycott RIAA? I've been doing it for years. I can't remember the last time I bought a CD. If you look in my car you'll see 30 or 40 burned CD's laying all over the place. Napster didn't make me realize that the RIAA was ripping me and the artist off. I have 7000 mp3's. I got them all the same way: http:\\www.audiogalaxy.com Good'ol fashion FTP. Yea, you got yer ratios and yer busy sites and whatnot, but I can still get whatever I want. FTP sites will be around long after Napster and all the silly clones get banned. Whatever they do, I don't care. I still get all the music I want. Oh yea, I forgot to say. I'm a music pirate. Guilty as charged. I won't lie about it. Like I said, haven't bought a single CD since I got my burner. I been to more concerts in the last two years, I mean with all these new groups I'm discovering. I have seen that discussion here on/. and I won't bother to debate it again. Just telling you truthfully what I do. Boycott whatever you want. Bitch and moan until your face turns blue. It's pretty much a non-issue for me since I'm downloading some new Aphex Twin at the moment.
One interesting thing to wonder about is if the sexual harassment laws really protect people with low self-esteem. As being one of the rare males that was supposedly harassed by a female I know it didn't bother me. I have pretty high self-esteem so I just thought the chick was nuts. The other female coworkers got her fired because they were not comfortable. Anyway my point was I wonder how close self-esteem levels correspond to feeling harassed.
I read through a far portion of the posts here and I have to say I'm disappointed. It's quite clear that no one here has ever gone deep into either MS office or StarOffice. Using MS Office in a global enterprise fashion is nearly impossible. I'm a Office Engineer for a Fortune 500 company that makes its money on R&D. That means documents are the life blood of the company. Getting into the nitty gritty with MS Word and it'll nearly drive you insane. MS had a philosophy of using "styles" in its documents but didn't stick to it consistantly making it nearly impossible to control some aspects of formatting. As 3rd support I'm often getting the "seriously fucked" documents to repair. Ever hear of Style Corruption? Neither has Microsoft. It's a problem I have to fix everyday but MS won't admit it exists. Why? It's a basic flaw in the design of the product. To admit something like Style Corruption can happen means that MS Word is a piece of crap from line 1 of the code. The reason I say this is because I have been seriosuly looking at StarOffice as a alternative product to use. Any Office Engineer will agree with me, MS Office is not a viable product for global enterprise use. It's the defacto standard because it's what everyone else uses. If StarOffice goes opensource then I can use it and provide a solution that will work for this company. If I run into a problem like Style Corruption I can try and work with the community to fix it. I'm sick of Microsoft plugging it's ears and screaming "NA NA NA NA NA" when I try to explain what is Style Corruption. For all those saying StarOffice is bloated and slow, shit man, at least with an opensource version you can make it work! I'll take slow and bloated anyday over impossible to make it work.
