If it was always practiced like this feminism would always be a wonderful thing but it's not and it only takes one man hater to color someone's view of feminism.
"Negative Reinforcement >> Positive Reinforcement"
Two issues with this.
1) They are both instances of Negative Reinforcement.
2) Negative Reinforcement is less stable than Positive Reinforcement in that Negative Reinforcement gets the receiver to avoid the Negative Reinforcement while not necessarily moving towards the desired goal while Positive Reinforcement leads the receiver to seek more of it which means accomplishing the desired goal.
Since Linus' goal was to avoid userland bugs then his response was indeed on the correct side whether or not one agrees with his wording.
TL;DR If you want someone to do something use Positive Reinforcement if you want someone not to do something use Negative Reinforcement.
C++ is no more powerful than C it's more expressive in certain circumstances but definitely not more powerful. There is a reason C is the de-facto standard for embedded systems in that it is lightweight and the second most powerful language there is (Assembly or Machine Code being the most powerful).
Admittedly I was thinking along the lines of authentication of the client and other minor communication not that we CAN'T do it but still the level of effort to do this is higher than the level of reward.
The thing is you don't need to crack the server code you just need to know what the game expects from the server in order to run and then provide that. The real problem here is not the code but the encryption used if any. You just need to know the proper packets to send and possibly route that url to a local url (or IP address depending on multiple factors).
Standardized tests measure quick thinking and are generally low on tedium classes are graded on homework and tests with homework usually the most significant part of the grade. Personally as a male I got through high school and college by doing so damn well on tests and with intuitive problem solving that my teachers chose to ignore my grades on the homework. This ended up biting me in the ass in my last year of college when I realized that I didn't have the discipline I needed to finish out my degree I later went back and finished it after working on developing that discipline.
I guarantee you there are plenty of obstacles but it will happen. I said nothing of colonizing other planets merely that we will use the resources from those dead rocks that we can and from there our world changes and we have no idea what's going to happen. Our number one obstacle is setting up manufacturing in space in order to lower the cost of these operations and that can already happen it's just a space station that can work with raw materials. We're realistically already there we just need to push a little to start manufacturing in space maybe come up with a method to recycle all that junk we've left up there into a spacefaring vessel that can start our mining operations.
So because it might not happen or might not be utter annihilation means we shouldn't try to protect ourselves as a species? That's the kind of thinking that makes mankind less adaptable than it used to be.
You're entitled to your views but there are resources out there on uninhabited asteroids and planets and they WILL be harvested and when that starts happening this world is going to change in ways we can't forsee we already have the technology to get out to Mars with robots which means we can pretty much already start mining these asteroids and since we can do that we can build a manufacturing plant in space using those resources. There is nothing stopping us except cowardice.
Drive in >>> regular theaters. There's a little park for the kids to play in nice privacy in the back of your car less kids crying better sound and bigger screens why the hell did we ever invent not drive in theaters?
Does anyone happen to know how f-ing cheap soda is to produce it's like $.25 to make that glass you pay $5 for in theaters that's where you give your discounts (and also why there are free refills on soda in restaurants)
"I'm not the GP, but I do know that some prescription antidepressants have known side effects that can include violent psychotic breaks and strong suicidal ideation."
There are known instances of suicide caused by prescription anti-depressants I know of at least one case personally.
I say we legalize it tax it like crazy to keep the prices constant and put all that tax money into our education system with an addendum that all administrators make no more than the highest paid teacher.
A couple current uses of tablets in the enterprise realm:
1) Building inspectors take notes or fill out forms on the tablet under a wide range of circumstances and this data is instantly available on project management platform.
2) ePCR paramedics fill out this form for patients on the tablet and the hospital has access to the information before the patient arrives and can have staff immediately available.
This is just from projects I have personally worked on I am sure there are more current professional uses for tablets. In these particular circumstances nothing other than a tablet would do as there is no place to set down a laptop.
You are missing a couple of current technologies.
1) Single sourcing energy is a horrible idea period and PV is not the only form of solar power condensers get efficiency closer to 30%
2) Read up on the Tesla Roadster electric vehicle gets about 300mi to a charge and is darned close to your 0-60 number. Charge time still needs to be worked out but might be down to less than an hour soon.
Does it really matter if you're compiling your lfs on the device itself or not? Just so long as you're building and compiling it yourself. Of course who cares about that if you don't modify the source code yourself.

Marriage does not end child support. And yes I agree the problem exists.
You say rubbish but can you tell me one thing you can do in C++ that you can't do in C?
Darned straight they'd spend all day at work on /. posting instead of working...

Not always sometimes they're called Software Engineers (me) or Analysts (my friends) or Teachers (other friends).
Just saying if you're going to give discounts on products pick the highest markup product you have.

Wow you have REALLY light skin... Takes me about 3hrs in the sun to start to get pink and 8 to get a severe sunburn and that's in bad conditions.

It's enforced but easy to get around I have seen a guy smuggle a 12 pack of Budweiser in to the theater with no bag just in random pockets.

Hence the poster saying "violent psychotic breaks" instead of "psychotic breaks" implying that not all "psychotic breaks" are violent.

Thank god for cross compilation?
