    ...communicate they still consider those rather trivial (like they're looking for a moron) by asking for: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.

    Oh, it's even worse at public institutions. They're so worried about possible discrimination lawsuits, they really spell out the bare minimum requirements.

    The school district I worked at lists things like: "Physical requirements: sitting for extended periods of time; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead; lifting light objects; hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to read, prepare and proofread documents; ability to inhale oxygen and metabolize food to sustain homeothermic balance..."

    Okay, I made up the last one, but the others are real!

    And just how the hell do you propose feeding 14 tyrannosaurus for 40 days. Well, without having them eat the rest of the animals.

    That's not even the half of it... it supposedly rained for 40 days and nights, but the ark was afloat for 150 days!

    Believe it or not, YECs argue that the animals didn't have to eat much because they went into some type of 'hibernation.' This despite the fact that the verse says Noah was commanded to bring enough food for them all. Creationists second-guess the bible in countless ways. They sure don't have much faith in the book they claim to be literal truth.

    Well, I'm certainly no believer, but it's worth pointing out that existence is independent of reason. If God exists, he exists - whether or not there are reasons for it, just like everything else that exists.

    That's one of the main reaons St. Anselm's argument doesn't hold water.

    I remember hearing about a guy whose vanity plate got rejected. His request: "33M T33"

    Exactly. I don't mean to be rude, but the GP's comment is just silly.

    "Documents" can be either graphical or text (or both). There's a reason why word processing formats allow embedding of images.

    In fact, "document" has become an almost meaningless term since it can apply to so many types of data. About the only thing all the different "document" formats have in common is that their content is 2D!

    Ever used an Amiga from 1988-1990 or so? It was crazy what they performed like in comparison to other options at the time.

    So true. Amiga instantly raised the bar for multimedia machines.

    This guy was actually at a really expensive private school, one of the best from an academic standpoint in the country.

    Amen. The constitution doesn't list these as US citizenship given rights. They are named as God given rights specifically because an overpowered government could choose when and to what extent it could abuse people.

    Well put, although it's the Declaration of Independence, IIRC, that refers to people being "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights," not the Constitution.

    BTW, did you hear what McCain said about the SCOTUS ruling on Gitmo?

    "These are people who are not citizens; they do not and never have been given the rights that citizens of this country have...
    "Americans are going to be shocked to find that that mastermind of 9-11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, now has the same legal standing as an American citizen."

    Well, yeah... I thought that this country was founded on the idea that everyone has the same rights. Apparently McCain disagrees.

    While I agree with the privacy infringements, I really wish it wasn't someone suspected on child porn complaining about it. It certainly won't garner much support from the general public, informed or not.

    That's true, but the public really needs to understand that this is not about protecting the guy with child porn on his laptop - it's about protecting all of us from unreasonable searches while they're on fishing expeditions for someone with child porn.

    Yes, they found lots of personal effects from passengers on the planes, including those of CeeCee Lyles, a flight attendant who faked a phone call to her family while the 'hijackers' were pretending to take over the plane. She then faked her death in the impact of United Flight 93, landing at a secret airport and she remains in hiding today.
