It doesn't work though. As much porn as we want still!!!

  8. Corporate Control on Cantametrix Plans To Track All MP3s On The Web · · Score: 1

THis is just another way that the corporate world destroys our freedom. The greed dominated record companies, as we all know, are afraid of mp3s as it is the one thing that can finally challenge their monopoly. Ever wondered why cds are the same price no matter what store you go to. Thats because the major labels are all involved in robber-baron type price fixing. They crap on about market forces being destroyed but in reality they are the market. I don't see it as stealing in as much as i am not making money off the mp3s. That would be stealing. I support bands by going to concerts. i am not talking about ticketmaster type concerts but small ones at universites and pay at door ones. This battle is indicative of a great struggle in society. The corporate control of our lives and the destruction of the environment are all part of this. If you have any views or thoughts on this instead of just venting your anger here do it else where as well. Join a protest like those at Seattle last year or melbourne (i did). Join a party, speak out. The way to throw off the chains of corporate control is through direct action. Hack a corporate websites such as Nike and expose their treatment of workers. The movement is building join in!

Your fucked! Just because the government says its illegal you think it is. You probably agreed with anti gay laws and still think weed is bad. You suck. Do you really think that artists can afford to release cds themself. You don't know what market forces are. The RIAA is not about competition its about monopolies. Ever wonder why cds cost the same no matter where you go. Thats becuase the 4 or 5 majors companies are involved in price fixing!

I totally agree. The reason they came late was not because they had no idea but because they don't want to change. Like oil companies. If i was in charge of one i would look into other technologies so that when the oil runs out you can still be in control. but the don't because they are greedy and only see tomorrow!!!!

The powers that be never let change happen. look at the protest over the WTO. Shutting them down with no reason, legal or otherwise. And the oil companies re electric cars and other alternate sources. Also human nature doesn't react well to change. It can probably be blamed on not wanting or environment to change and causing extinction, an instinctive fear. Remember the luddites. also a fear of what people don't know is another. they probably think he is scheming on his computer making a bomb or something. sorry for ranting aswell

  22. Business Control on Criminal Libel, Free Speech And The Net · · Score: 1

As mentioned in the article this to me does seem like the beautifing (- is that right) the web for the 'average' person. The problem is the 'average' person really isn't going to read the page. They need to realise the net is not a medium for business and they should piss off back to where ever. this is indicative of the way business permeates everything in society today. I am from Australia and we have big problems now with businesses control of sport (namely Rupert Murdoch -- Australia apologises for him), I realise that it has been like that in the US for years but the day someone could own a competition s the day sport died. And I say good on you to the kid. I was never really bullied at school as I was big and played sport (sort of) but many of my friends were. And I hear the US is much worse. America should look at itself and see how the rest of the world sees it. Not as the leader of the free world but as the decline of modern society. The moment some one can be arrested for paying out somebody is when we realise the extent of the totalitarian society we live in. I agree that we should unite to help this guy, otherwise it will be another case where the 'cool' people win. but remember the best revenge is living a good life. and most of these jocks will end up doing nothing for there life and this guy will probably create some great program and be rich!!!! Sorry for rambling ;-)
