Not just because of the H1Bs. Read about recent IBM layoffs of US workers.
Face reality, tech companies are offshoring US jobs, and inshoring visa workers, and fast as they possibly can. There is no sign that US employers will ever let up.
Unemployment of US STEM workers is way up, and salaries are down.
For US workers, avoiding STEM careers should be a no brainer.
So how many hundreds of junk panents have Apple and Microsoft filed? And how many bogus lawsuits have those companies filed against Android device makers? Or other Google interests? And how many scox-scam like lawsuits has Microsoft filed by proxie?
God forbid Google do anything to protect itself from those hyper-aggressive lawsuit scam companies. Google being evil evilEVIL!!!
Google was not looking to control the nation's money supply. Just it's own money point system. Online games like WoW and 2nd life do this. I think MS tried to do this also.
The nation's money supply is managed by people much more evil than Google.
I don't play any of those games. But, as I understand it, WoW, and 2nd life, have their own sort of money. In fact, some people make their living from that stuff.
With Google's new anti-privacy policy, they are explicitly reserving the right to take all that information and do whatever they want with it internally.
I have read Google's new privacy policy, and I don't remember seeing that. Care to be specific?
That is the way Apple defines things. Apple is allowed to steal all the ideas they want. They even gloat about it. But if anybody uses an idea that Apple stold, Apple will scream, and cry, and especially sue.
The awful part of Obama's presidency is the continuation of Bush's national security policy. Warrantless wiretapping, assassinating under age American citizens, keeping Guantanamo bay open, failing to prosecute anyone for torture. He stayed in Iraq until the last minute set by the Bush administration.
Obama also signed the 2012 NDAA. So Obama not only continued Bush's constitution shredding policies, Obama accelerated those policies.

Last I saw there were 1.8 million US engineers who were unemployed, or employed, but not able to find jobs in engineering. So where is the shortage?
Do you remember Jeniffer Wedel?

Anybody can see where this is heading. US employers do want to hire US STEM workers - period.
US workers would have to be flat-out stupid to want to compete with third world wages.
There are some good jobs left, that is true, but anybody can see the situation is going downhill fast for US STEM workers.
STEM is being offshored, and inshored, to death.
There is no way to stop it. All we can do is avoid STEM.
We would our kids study to develop techs, when US employers are throwing US tech developers under the bus?
Offshore workers are cheaper. Who wants to compete with third world wages?

from hyper-aggressive patent trolls like Apple and Microsoft.
Anybody care to compare the number of offensive lawsuits launched by Apple, and compare that to the number of offensive lawsuits launched by Googe?
How about comparing junk patents filed?

Does Slashdot ever get tired of BS Google smears?
Now I guess it's time for "anonomous" with 20 different logins to start screaming about Google being evil evil EVIL!!!
Not just MS either. Also Facebook, WoW, 2nd life, and probably several others.
This is just another Google smear. More Microsoft FUD, no doubt.
These days, slashdot hardly goes a day without parroting some Microsoft FUD against Google. And the morons on slashdot lap it up.

I'm a US vet, currently working for the DoD as civialian, have held secret, and top-secret clearances.
I am here to tell you: Manning is 100% guilty, no doubt about it.
As for Assange, I'm not so sure.
Apple is doing the same thing, only 100X more aggressively. I guess Apple has not been able to adapt to changing technologies?
Anybody know what these patents cover?

If google does not give my personal information to advertisers, then my personal information is neither sold, or rented.
Would you not agree?
When did Google start selling personal information? Care to cite your source on that?

I don't think it is.
Yes Obama is denying Americans the right to a lawyer, and the right to a trial.
It does seem like Obama may not be the right guy to protect our rights.
I just cannot see the white house coming out with sensible policy for this.
