You paid for it just like the rest of us. The only difference is that your payment came (and comes) in the form of taxes, rather than student loans (or whatever else).

True, but he's paying the taxes whether he went to college or not. By going to college for only $500 bucks, you're getting more "money" back than those who didn't go to college. Take into consideration the tax write-offs continuing higher education; that's even more of a kickback. Less the student loan interest & a higher earning potential post-graduation skews the balance even further.

You're behind the times buddy, this has been the way of it loooong before the US was around. Its easier to sway people when you give them something to rail against. The trick of it is, some "straw men" actually are bad guys (depending on who's asking). I'm sure some grannies think KISS is still the devil's instrument, but we can all agree some people just do wrong, stupid & negligent things. I think people are going on 'cause it feels sooo good to pick sides and bicker. Nothing new. What gripes me is the whole fanboy issue. YES, we get it; each side of this "issue" has a few major douche-bags that froth, scream and whine, then they scream and whine that the others are screaming and whining louder. Just whip it out and compare sizes already. Jesus, I'm sure most of the people that read slashdot are soooo glad this gets dredged up every day, so they can hear you guys bitch and moan about who's "right" and who's "wrong". Whatever happened to respecting someone's differing opinion, having an INTELLIGENT conversation about it (if you're so moved) and moving on with your day? *I know this comment won't amount to much, I swear I've read this same gist over and over and over throughout the years.
