So, this is a bug in the update network daemon and RedHat put out a fix on the update network before the 3 weeks. So *everyone* affected already *has* the patch. So what's the problem ?
Oh, i see you were running the update daemon but aren't on the update network. Go ahead and ask for a refund.
This isn't actually MPEG4, but MS/MPEG4, which is a MPEG2 bloat MS tryed to push when MPEG4 was in call for papers. The MPEG board said "tkx for playing now sod off.". I doubt this thing is even bitstream compatible with real MPEG4.
I did some work on the DSP field (mostly mpeg-audio, mp3 for the kidize), and by no means am I an expert, but this algorithm doesn't look much diferent from the text book butterfly aproaches. Looking at it quickly and without checking the math looks like something you could submit to a conference and get published in the procedings but not actually patent material, even if i was to agree with patenting such algorithms.
Actually, the i960CF is market as a DSP chip, with full FP unit benchmarks and some libs. It just gets his ass kicked by TIs that cost about 1/10:)
The "no setup fee" did them in

I setup an account about a month ago at linuxbox. I like the service and the staff. I setup my account, saw how things worked out and a few days later filled in the payment form. How many people did this ?:( I wonder how many fukin porn dealers abused linuxbox:(
It's actually 15 and 25G. They quote compressed figures and assume 2:1 ratio. Go gzip your mp3s and tell me the result:)
On the other hand: "OnStream is working to qualify developers who are familiar with Linux to write drivers and tools to attach OnStream digital drives to systems running a Linux operating system. Initially, support for this solution will be from the community of Linux developers." So they aren't totally pointy haired;)

MPEG4/Audio is similar to MPEG2/Audio AAC.
"MP3 Layer4" ? You're an idiot.
