3 cd-rom drives? doh! stick a scsi card in that pci slot and you can have a ton of cd-drives. a scsi card would really make this a cool server box. i am gonna get a few and stack them high.
i saw one of these babys at the local lug the other day and it was running linux great, and looking good!
i started with slackware, then after a few years of jousting with redhat and co, i nearly gave up on linux.
then i remembered slackware, grabed slack 7.0 and have not looked back since. i like the bsd scripts, the lack of rpm, the console. as long as i am around, so will slackware.

can't you get domino / notes server for linux? that i beleive is exchanges main competitor in the world. get it running on a linux box and there is your solution.
Whatever happened to Wordperfect on Linux? I used it a while back and found it very good, better than anything else I had used, even on Windoze I think Wordperfect is much better that MS-Word.
I thought about that when I saw the empeg, that has an ethernet interface on the back of that. I am sure you could hook that into a 802.11b card and you have your solution.
i went the other way, used a palm for a few years then switched over to my doublespeed hp200lx 8mb, though you can get 96mb versions now. it's great, dunno about gcc but you can get perl for it.
on the other hand checkout http://www.morphyone.org/ this is the hp200lx with a 486 processor. now thats what we want to see!!

I use my hp200lx, old tech but good. It is a XT (i186 processor, CGA Screen, MS-DOS 5.0), it has a serial port and a pcmcia typeII slot. There are network cards available for it so you can sniff too.
man and goat
enough said.
if the system just has the 1 dvd / cd drive and you are using that to boot the thing, where do you put the dvd you want to play?
some people have no idea
