  1. it's wiring, not size on Why size mattered for Einstein · · Score: 1

From a news article I read, it did not say anything about size, but they did say that it was because one of the grooves in the brain was incomplete, unlike in most humans. This incomplete groove was present on both sides of his brain. This allowed faster communication between two different regions in Einstein's cerebral cortex. Also, the large groove down the center of Einstein's brain was also incomplete, which would have directly connected both halves of Einstein's cerebral cortex.

  2. Use the *.us domain and other national domains on Dyson Says: "NSI is stalling" · · Score: 1

Both the NSI and ICANN are both major problems. They are both trying to privatize the Internet and exploit it for their own profit. They both must be eliminated, either by political means, economic means, or if it comes to it, shutting them down by hacking into and screwing up their servers. Get around both NSI and ICANN by only using the *.us domain and other country code based domains. That is how you get around NSI and ICANN's control. If everybody does this, they will be financially in the hole, and forced to give in.

Heck, if "open source" was a trademark, you'd have to go and put "tm" with it whereever you use it, and the OSI could control the usage of that term. At least "OSI certified" doesn't give direct control of the term "open source" to one organization. What if Microsoft or the new triumvirate (AOL-Netscape-Sun) try to pay off the OSI with huge quantities of money so they can control the usage of the term "open source"? At least they can't do that now.

People can't violate your rights here (unless they have lots of money), but corporations can pretty much trample right over your rights. If the corporations and the government are working together, your rights are virtually nonexistant. If a corporation sues you, even if their case is total crap, you pretty much lose or end up fleeing to Canada. I'm also a socialist, and I want to move to a socialist country. :-)

Even if Linux + Apache is slower than NT, you don't want your file or web server going down often. A Linux based server may be slower, but it won't go down often, if at all. NT has a horrible track record of being unstable, while Linux has a great track record of being very stable.

This may explain why many sysops prefer NT over Linux or Uniz.

And I also think that strict environmental controls are also a very good idea. And corporations are just as scared of environment controls as they are of socialism. I also think that it would be a good idea to adopt the metric system and use military time with all the place holder zeros, as well as the day-month-year date format.

Let's make the US as socialist and as liberal as Sweden! Free healthcare, free 6 week vacations, free utilities, free pension for people over age 65, free insurance, free housing for the poor, free education (including college), and free unemployment pay for all! Another thing that saved Great Britain's ass was that it had much better pilots than the Luftwaffe pilots. A pure air war is not as effective as a blitzkrieg, which combines infantry, armor, and air power. Just look at the Six Day War:Israeli Airstrike 5 June 1967. The Israeli air force hit the surrounding countries' airbases so fast that their enemies didn't know what hit them. And then the Israelis sent in their armor and infantry to clean up the mess. Even though the Israelis did use armor and infantry, it was the Israeli air force which brought Egypt, Syria, etc. to their knees. When the six day war was over, the Israelis had a total victory.
