macromedias current linux support is quite bad, you only get flash player 6 on i386 (and this is even "unsupported" by macromedia), nothing for ppc (i asked macromedia many times to release a ppc version) and other architectures. interesting to see there is something going on at macromedia, but i consider this to be marketing as log as the real thing isnt out.
i have used ati products for quite some time... but i was so disappointed with their drivers, and ati's linux support (read: drivers) isn't that great.
i just bought a fresh nvida card because they have (yes i know it's closed sorce) very good linux drivers, the are fast and i can play quake 3 in 1280x1024 or use tvout to watch dvd's on my tv.
i think what ati has to do, get the drivers working, also ati should consider more linux support (drivers!), i know many gnu/linux using people who have nvidia cards just because they are working very well, and i won't buy any ati products until they have: a.) better drivers b.) linux drivers
to be fair, ati does support linux, but i think they have to realize, that people dont like to wait a half or even a year before their graphics board is working the way it should be...
i think ati builds good cards, but their drivers have ever been, and are still crap, i remeber years back where i used windows and gnu/linux in dual boot, ati's drivers for windows had many problems, but i had a 3dfx card back then so i don't cared that much.
all i can say is, if you are willing to wait that someday the drivers are good, then buy ati's cards, as i said before, i don't buy their products anymore.
> Are they referring to the recent release of XP?
yes! the whole product is a "critical flaw"...
have a look at the movies here (the "DanceMonkeyBoy" mpeg, explains it all) and you stop wondering about microsoft... (first i thougt the steve balmer movie was from an psychiatrist... but it wasnt);)
i suspected that SuSE was in trouble, glad that the are saved.
i'm using SuSE for a very long time and i like the distribution.
the future of SuSE seems to be good:
look here and here
SuSE has put much effort into supporting development of open source projects like, kde, alsa, reiserfs,...
hopefully the future will be better for SuSE, if they go, it will be a lost for the open source community.
hhmhh... i think adobe has damaged their own name with this, because i think a lot of people are now pissed off and will define "adobe" as "i hate them" or even assign the word "adobe" to bad things like "microsoft"...
i have just read the article over at heise (in german)
and there is a good comment
and here are the things you find when you search for "illustrator", look what's with them:
the net also gives you the chance to talk to people you know form "real life" but its mutch
too expensive (telephone, handy,...) to talk to him/her for a longer time, you can do this in the net (irc, icq, and others) whatever youself
want and as long as you want (in my country 10 hours internet costs the same than 12 minutes over handy or 1 hour over normal phone).
i also enjoy to talk to people i have never seen
before because if you dont know the other side, its much more interesting to talk to ?!!
>...friends that weren't just about drinking, smoking, and football...
thats another thing thats _realy_ good on the net.
oooooooohhhh! nt has security ???
is this a joke ???
ok, many people have said it, there also
is NTFSdos wich i have used on bootdisks
to acces ntfs partitions, of the wonderful
micro$uck operating system that cant be booted
becaus it crashed it self, because micro$uck
generay pisses me off, and i like linux sooooo
much i used ntfs r/w support of a 1 disk
linux distribution to rapair damaged nt
installations (like every m$ os, if it doesent
crash its not genuine)...
probably the newest micro$uck thing
against linux (and every other good os)
may be that linux (or an other free os)
runns on architectures (x86,alpha,...)
where windows also runns, and micro$uck
says "thats not certifided" !!!
i say fsck off micro$uck
kill them, ups! the will kill themself...
yes! i have the same vision, i hope that is not that far away... but im not so sure if DivX will be useful?!?... but: i cant await hardware accelerated DVD under linux for my ati rage 128... i hope that someday full multi meda is possible under linux (for all plattforms not just x86 linux)

but the site is empty, possibly someone did some "remote administration"
ok, i dont think someone did, but guess what, the site renders perfectly
in every browser, must be because it's empty

Trident's CyberBlade XP Selected For HP Pavilion Notebooks
Trident and ALi's CyberBLADE ALADDiN i1 Wins in IBM's
ThinkPad i Series 1200+1300
ACER Selects Trident and ALi's CyberBLADE ALADDiN i1 For TravelMate 350 Notebook

win2k: whooohhh! we got 33 days
if linux is "amateur code" then explain THIS
and in "life-critical systems" do you want M$ ?!? -> doctor: sorry, our system got a bsod...
