Right you are. It's been so long since I ran IE, I guess I forgot. Still, get enough browser windows open and all that's displayed in the taskbar is an IE icon. Not that this problem is limited to Windows in any way, but having the browser as an MDI app certainly helps reduce the taskbar congestion.
And don't even get me started on app "grouping" on the taskbar. Frankly, I'd rather have the clutter than have to click twice, and still have to wonder which instance of the program is the one I'm looking for.
Does anybody know when Opera 7 is going to be available for other platforms than Windows? I'd like to test against it, but they don't seem to have a Linux version ready.
And when you have 10 browser windows open in the single Windows desktop, each with a taskbar entry truncated to "Internet Ex" how do you know which one to switch to?
..tie the power cord to your ankle to simulate random rebooting that you somehow blame yourself for..
So you're saying that you had a Spectrum or Timex/Sinclair? <rimshot>
My Commodore had color graphics, rarely crashed, and had no mouse. It needed no mouse. CBM BBSs' were neat, because they could do color PETSCII graphics and even animated screens made from the graphics characters. It was similar (and possibly superior) to ANSI graphics, but this was at a time when the IBM PC had a green screen and a beeping speaker.

If you're running certain distros, you can hear Linus himself pronounce the word, "Linux".

Now, let's have no more of this Line-ucks business!
I never use Hotmail anymore, mainly because I can't be bothered to check the 'delete' box for 200 spam messages every time I log in. It's not a cure for spam by any means, but it would make it much easier to clean out an Inbox. Yahoo mail has had this feature for ages, and it makes web based email much more useful.
Boromir, son of Faramir, King of Gondor and Minas Tirith
I hate to break this to you Boromir, but you've been deceived! Faramir, that Hobbit-napping rogue, is actually your brother! Not only that, but Gondor has no king! Shocking, but true.
BTW, you'd better watch out for this guy Aragorn, I hear he's got his eye on the throne.
Can you write CDs now on XP without being Administrator? Because when I used to run win2k, I tried to do things the "right" way, but eventually had to give my user Admin rights in order to burn CDs (among other things).
So young, so angry. I happen to like Canada quite a bit. I haven't been to your city, but did take a vacation in Toronto some time back and thought it was rather nice.
In fact, there's only one thing from Canada that I would rather do without.
I think this is one of those things that simply must be experienced in order to understand the pure frustration involved. In my city at least, the telemarketing calls are remorseless and unrelenting. Telling them to, "take me off your list" has become a joke.
Count yourself lucky to get so few calls. Maybe you're in a rural environment? I used to live in a small town, and pratically never got telemarketing calls. Living in a major urban center is another story. I have an unlisted number and have taken care (obviously not enough) to not give out my phone number to those who may abuse it. Still, I get dozens of calls per week.

You just disclosed my number! You bastard!!
They would have needed a June bug.
The future of Microsoft.
Simpsons mod hands down. Best. mod. ever.
Unix is dead, long live *nix.

1. Which 'puter is my main workstation?
I would think the Pentium III 850, since it's the fastest..
2. Which 'puter is used exclusively for opening Word files?
The Windows box?
3. What is my favourite Linux distro?
Err, is it Slack? Could it be? :)
4. Which machine is the one that I really paid a lot of money for, especially since it's a Thinkpad laptop?
Should be the P133 with the 3 GB hard drive. Used to know someone with a Stinkpad in that configuration.
Show me one religion that hasn't used terrorism as a tactic in all its history. Just one.
Off topic, but I can't imagine Buddhists' using "terrorism" in the name of furthering their religion (or for any reason).
good call

Thanks, that's good to know. This was with Nero, by the way. I think I looked at their BurnRights thing but maybe it didn't support win2k at the time?
:)
Ah, well. Now I use X-CD-Roast for my cdr needs anyway.
I'm sorry, we already have a George...

Agreed 100%.

btw I tried setting my threshold to +3 at one time, but ended up changing it back because I never got to see my own posts

I thought everyone used 'right click -> open in new tab' more often than the back button?
Nope, I use the middle mouse button to open new tabs :D
Agreed about the PDF. Whoever thought that opening those inside the browser was a good idea, was wrong.
Help! I kept hitting "u" in vi, and now I'm stuck in ed!
