Check out the Jargon file entry on double bucky complete with this song:
Double Bucky Double bucky, you're the one! You make my keyboard lots of fun. Double bucky, an additional bit or two: (Vo-vo-de-o!) Control and meta, side by side, Augmented ASCII, nine bits wide! Double bucky! Half a thousand glyphs, plus a few! Oh, I sure wish that I Had a couple of Bits more! Perhaps a Set of pedals to Make the number of Bits four: Double double bucky! Double bucky, left and right OR'd together, outta sight! Double bucky, I'd like a whole word of Double bucky, I'm happy I heard of Double bucky, I'd like a whole word of you! --- The Great Quux (with apologies to Jeffrey Moss)
Everyone is entitled to his opinion, but Parasite Eve? It was an extremely short game with some decent movies. While FF7 is has some annoying moments, it has the advantage of more non-linearity in the story, and longer, more varied play.
Many/.ers including myself are guilty of saying that Per-System or Per-Model licensing is a violation or a loophole in the consent decree. I looked up the consent decree and found that
(G) Microsoft's revenue from a License Agreement for any Covered
Product shall not be derived from other than Per Copy or Per System
Licenses, as defined herein. In any Per System License:
So Per-Model or Per-System licenses are kosher per the consent decree. (The consent decree as a whole is a highly recommended read).
Compaq is expected to make more Unix news next month when it renames Digital Unix to Tru64Unix, according to sources.
Am I the only one who thinks this is a lousy name? It sounds like a marketing whiz kid's brainfart.
I'm not that fond of Digital Unix as an OS. But I has some nice features and a decent sounding name. I would be embarrased to put Tru64Unix on my resume.
I get timeouts when trying to access http://www.sun.com, at least this one:
Name: wwwwseast2.usec.SUN.COM
Address: 192.9.49.33
Aliases: www.SUN.COM
Apparently his second thought was to get huffy, reply as an Anonymous Coward and do the right thing.
Do you have a reference for your cold fusion claims?

Sounds like a toilet euphemism to me.
No, we just need to ban idiots.

Well, to give credit where credit is due, Eunice (unix for VMS) is probably the worst name for a Unix and arguably the worst Unix.
It warrants its own entry in Perl's Configure script.
Congratulations. You aren't running Eunice.

Believe it.
