Why do people continue to insist that the Xbox was a "bad investment" for consumers? You already mentioned the Halo series, but the Splinter Cell series debuted on Xbox. The Oddworld series left PS2 and moved to Xbox. Just about every major sports franchise is available on Xbox, if that's your thing. Hell, I know several people who have purchased an Xbox in the past month, and the thing is over three years old now.
Not to mention the solid, albeit comparatively pricey, Xbox Live online service.
Don't get me wrong, Firefox is still head and shoulders above IE, but to say "there [haven't] been any major new features added to IE since mid/late-90's" is just not true.
Nothing comparable?! I tried to use Myth. I gave it a solid 3 months, tweaking it, submitting bug reports, performing upgrades. But I would consistantly have programs cut out or just not record several times a week.
I switched to Windows XP Media Center Edition 5 months ago and haven't looked back; not a single missed show.
Are you sure you aren't doing something wrong? I get a list of showtimes in my area when I Google "movie:sideways"

$8.85 sounds all well and good, until I try to register a domain and get this:
