Lets put this into a differn't set of terms.
An employee of a company say a network admin got access to the credit card info of a large number of people. He stole it and smuggled it out on a flash drive.
He then put up for sale and let's say Microsoft knowing that it was gotten illegally paid him for it and used it for marketing.....
I'm not sure if your analogy is perfect, because I don't think he was paid by Wikileaks for the information. Correct me if I am wrong.
It's always a possibility that their servers are being DDOSed by everybody trying to download the files. At a minimum, every remotely developed country's government is going to be wanting a copy, not to mention every journalist alive.
Regardless, I don't think the TSA could hire enough people with those skills to handle the much larger (than Israel) air traffic that wanders through the US.
The US has a much larger pool of people to draw from. I'd be willing to bet that Israel's air traffic per capita is far higher than the US's.
El-Al (Israel) gives knives to everyone, not just first class. They've been making fun of the other airlines about it for years. If everybody has knives, then a terrorist with a knife is no more dangerous than he'd be on the ground, assuming the knife cannot be used to somehow quickly down the plane.
It is more a function of seniority than party. I would expect most of the newly elected members of congress, especially the Republicans, but the new Democrats too (although there aren't many of them) to actually show fiscal discipline. Don't expect the old-timers to change without being changed.
Don't question this. Very strong arguments can be made that this might actually be the first thing the current administration has done that can even remotely qualify as a foreign policy achievement.
The exact business plan of marketing a phone with fewer capabilities has been done before. It's advertised as the kosher phone. The service provider that sells them has a monopoly over the Hareidi Jewish community in Israel.
Any engineer should find this to be perfectly intuitive. When the DNA itself replicates to produce a new cell entirely, there are a lot of extra safeguards to ensure as near-exact copying as possible, as mutations can easily be fatal. For RNA copying, there is no need for this sort of precision, because even if the resulting protein is useless, the cell remains alive, and a new RNA strand can easily be produced if needed.
You, my friend, have just made a sweeping statement about a group of people you don't see yourself as belonging too, namely the group of people who have been called racist.
In the very post I am replying to, you show a tendency to make sweeping statements about groups of people, to peigeon-hole others, and to view the world through a mechanism of "us and them".
All in all, those things are a recipe for disaster. Or not, if you seek to rule.... Do you think the Duke Lacrosse Team Rape Case would have happened if it weren't for prejudices in society that the Stripper was able to stir up?
As a student who attends a very selective engineering school, I have long since realized that is the case. While convenient for me, the trend is disturbing from an ethical point of view.
It's a question of extent, and all the lines in between are fuzzy. Laissez-faire is a somewhat derogatory term. It is just a less nice way of saying "completely free market". Not all necessarily believe this is a bad thing.
What are my options?

Do nothing - Give up your rights to sue Google about the legal claims in this case and thereby accept the terms of this Settlement.
You do not forfeit anything other than for this case. And if they are lying, you have a new case anyway.
I don't think strength and stamina can be considered 'fit' traits anymore. The caveman days are over.
The best definition of Darwinian 'fitness' I have ever come across is the expected value of the total fitness in one's offspring. This is defined recursively, until the heat death, Armageddon, Resurrection, or however else life as we know it will end, you take your pick, much like a search tree for a game of checkers. As a consequence, in any Western society, where death is increasingly rare before sexual maturity, the only real measure of fitness, other than some sort of fatal gene, is how much offspring one wants to produce. Strength, stamina, mental fitness, flexibility and willpower are barely factors anymore.
The scary part is given that most developed countries have birthrates below replacement, there may be something inherently unfit about Western society as a whole. Haredi Jews are the most fit people in the world.
For those of you who want to know who made the vans, it was sponsored by the European Research Council. The lead researcher works at the University of Parma, Italy.
Why, oh why do the summaries lack useful information? Yes, I am new here.

I hate being pedantic, but if you are going to use 'whom', please use it correctly.
Very true, as nowadays even Mac OS uses a UNIX kernel.
The air quality is too damn high!

And nobody noticed.
I knew it! The Earth is the center of the universe!

If the spam is relevant and constructive, then it does not matter if it was generated by an astroturfing script.
Not universally; there are versions of Harry Potter in both British and American English.
It's much easier to fight your friends than to fight your enemies.
