Wow, I just spent an hour on the 'Death to Spam' it was v interesting, thier entire site seems so genuine it is scary.
I advise anyone to visit the page for at least 5 mins, you might learn something usefull:)
(P.S. My first email account was a hotmail account, I viseted a site and put in my email address about 4 years ago, Now I get anywhere between 80-160 messages a day. I use this address to register at most websites now even/., it is totaly unuseable, but I do like a cheerup every now and then so I read some of the messages, y'know, 'Mortgages' 'Low credit?' 'Ultra Teex XXX' etc.., I have made it my challenge, to get as much spam as possible into this account, then reply with all the messages attached every now and then, only problem is the account size limit!)
This is the part i find most intreging, Why dod they start the raids now?
"The university authorities urged students to remain calm and focus on their studies.
Midterm exams will begin at Chengkung University next week.
i would like to see the exam results for this college and compare them to the older results, can you imagine the students not happy with the results then sueing the authoroties for causeing unnsacary mental anguish at an already stressfull time.
Tell all your rich mates to buy at least 6. then the price will drop, no one is hurt as they can afford this type of expendature. then we can buy them for the price of a floppy disk!
I would like to get hold of some 8Cm CD-RW,160Mb. Read by all machines, pretty indestructable and realy neat looking, especialy if I could get hold of some lables to fit.
Ok they can scratch but only if you leave them on desks with screws and tools on, then throw heavy books on them. That is the only way I have accidentaly damaged a CD. I just made a copy of it though and it wrks fine now.
I used to use a geocities account. (the url above), i still do sometimes, ftp up ftp down.. good system, nearly evryone has access to the inet nowadays.
sony origionaly released the minidisk as data/audio storage. The drives were too expencive in the marketpalce. Zip/Ls120 competition too strong, Zip relaeced an app that ripped CDA tracks into there own format to try to compensate against Sony.
There is also the matter of popularity,if amate has a Zip 250 then you arn't going to buy a more expencive minidisk drive to share data with him/her. Sony did not see this coming so when it was releaced it flopped, then they concentrated on themusic area as this marketplace was booming, (Mp3 players etc...).
Overall, MD not enough data storage for the cost of the drive/disks at origional releace date.
GNUtella ? what does it mean? well it depends on how you express it... could be GNU teller like evryone else is saying but I think that it has nothing to do with GNU or Magic (Penn+Teller), I prefer the reasoning that someone could not think up a name and so looked in there 3:00am munchies cupboard and saw Nuttella, Great,, Nuttella. then whilst in the programming daze that so often envelopes such coders the thought of great nuttella lost a few letters and became Gnutella... Sorry for the post that was not about any sort of virus/worm etc but I just thought that I had to splurge that rambeling drivel all over/.:O)
Helooo I think we may be missing the point here. Using paper is a great Idea! Look at your box. hey it's plastic, but don't worry its is biodegradable (Spellin') NOT!! ever heared of tree farms, farms that grow trees quickly so that they can turned into biodegradable (Spellin') products. Oooh oooh and there is recycling. my computer is out of date its only an Intel Itaneum / AMD Sledgehammer @ 1100Mhz I need a faster one. just for the hell of it. I'll just take this one and put it in the RECYCLING BIN because it was so cheap and buy/leese annother one cheaply cos those old plastic things were expencive. I read my news on my computer. I would prefer to read my news on high- res paper than a lcd screen! THINK ABOUT IT!! are you realy being green? or are you just jumping the gun. -Shame about the spellin' but U can read it, cant you-
