I've found the opposite. Most of my technical friends adore pointing out the grammatical mistakes of others. Perhaps I just hang out with the 'wrong' crowd.;)
Perhaps you haven't heard of the Sumerian texts writtin (IIRC) about 25,000 years ago. They had quite the "advanced" civilization, with telescopes among them. Lemuria and Atlantis also had the "technology" of telescopes. You are being deliberately obtuse when you "assume" something that you have no proof of and use that as part of your proof. In order to have a _correct_ proof, the data that you build your proof upon _must_ be proven correct, which is nigh unto impossible here, as we have no way of knowing what did and did not exist 5000 years ago.
Now, I'm not saying that they for _sure_ had telescopes, but that they had the _possibility_ of having telescopes and that your outright denial is ludicrous. As I mentioned before, we do _not_ know for sure either way.

Perhaps it's _because_ of their violent childhood. They may (wrongly, in my opinion) think that is not a good way to grow up as a child, and may want their children to not have a violent childhood. Many parents tell there children not to do something because they once did that, or went through that, and do not want their children to go through the same thing. This may not actually be about screening violent video games, but in protecting their children from the violence that they grew up with. Of course, I think most politicians are ignorant liars, and should be replaced with honest folk, but that's just me.:P I also don't agree that banning violent games, in any way, will help at all, I mean, come on, they're just games! Right?
I don't know about anyone else, but I remember reading about an Alchemist device in the book "Reality Dysfunction", and it was an anti-matter drive.
Just a thought... =)
You must have had bad experience(s) with Americans to have that attitude. Most Americans that I know (not a large percentage, though;]) are fairly nice and will help you if they can. Even some of the not-so-well-to-do will feed, clothe (spelling?), and shelter you, for a little while, anyway.
Oh, the irony! It hurts! =) And to make matters even funnier, I don't belive that Microsoft would use the Sun Java vs. Microsoft Java case as a basis, since that would mean that they were wrong that time, they would just 'floss' over that one.
You may want to try Never Winter Nights by BioWare for single-purchase game (no recurring fees) or Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach by Turbine for a monthly-fee for the MMO services.
Grats on the coverage!

I think that was for 2-player only.
Yes, it was. ;)
Nice reference to the Emperor (Return of the Jedi) there... ;-)
