I agree with you and include MAPS capability on all my Sendmail servers. It doesn't get all the junk, but it's "hands off" and gets enough.
Those that think that this is censorware are just too freaking childish to realise that some people in this world just don't have time to listen to whatever it is you have to say. Yes, it is that hard to hit delete when you have to do it a few dozen times a day (and I'm getting off easy compared to some people) and have a good workload to take care of. These people who spam must be just like the little kids in kindergarten who insist on getting the story of their brother who ate the blue paint in the middle of someone's important discussion and will repeat it until you listen to it stammered through three times. Some of us have more important things to do that pass on your crap chainletters, or read your newfound "great money making system", or buy your shitty product.
Until I ask you for information, please keep the F away from me. I'm busy.

20% of all statistics are BS. I saw on the back of a matchbook that it was really 135 months. Where did you get that statistic?
Seriously, isn't what the Spammer did much worse than what Metnick did? That guy is really being screwed, so this guy shouldn't allowed near a computer for the rest of his life.
I just don't know about that mass forgery charge. It sounds like it's close to what he did, but without formal "hack" laws, it's still questionable.
So just because you're not looking, it's OK to go into your house and use your stuff and leave before you get home? If I had a dollar for everyone that used glass for windows instead of thick lexan...
Here's a hint, moron: just because you can do something doesn't mean it should be done. If you want to cure an open relay problem, send the admins a message or contact ORBS. It's absolutely asinine for people to use other's systems without their approval.
For damn sure, you'd be bitching if you couldn't use your system because someone was using it without your permission.
Freedom for all doesn't mean freedom to hijack computer servers and generally do whatever you want no matter who it screws. No mention from you of the problems caused to the admins that had to deal with locking the server down. You say nothing of efforts (=$$$) that could have been spent on other projects being spent on dealing with this guy.
That's all OK, isn't it? Screw the spammers.
Right. Because mounts named/dev/FUfs/rdsk/c02303394023048304230290 will ensure that Linux sells into the billions of copies next year. There's a place for "My Network Places" and there's a place for/dev/FU. Give you one guess which one is like hotcakes and which barely makes it out of the hands of geeks. The guys who made "My Network Places" have their award every time they drive to work in it, while you're still scratching your head over this.
Read a dictionary some time you fool. I suppose you think the sentence "The nice policeman defused the bomb." is about some cop that disarmed a nuclear device.
For your sake, I hope they don't mistakenly stream all ads about stuff you don't want! It's going to be hell for you to have all that unwanted stuff laying around the house. In fact, most ads I see are for stuff I don't want. Looks like they'll have to find another revenue model...
Just because they're not taking down IP addresses and other private info today is no guarantee they won't change that EULA and start taking them down tomorrow. This is now the CueCat Web Browser.
I'll just keep using IE. I see no ads and it never crashes on me like that Netscrape always figures a way to do. Sure, it's bloated, but I swear much less while I'm using it and the wife appreciates that. =)
Think of the screen real estate you're just giving away. How much did you pay for that monitor? And how much of that is wasted because it's displaying junk ads that you're just ignoring anyway, on top of the junk ads that are already displayed on the web page you're surfing to?
And besides, what are the chances that fuckyomamma.com is going to become the next Yahoo or Amazon. Let them have their little domain and watch it fade away. The registrar gets their $75 and the moron gets their yuks for a little while.
If I don't have the right to share it, does that mean I have to shut the music off when a friend drops by? Does that mean that I must play the music at a volume low enough to keep others from hearing it outside my car or home?
And if I suddenly play my CD at the same time I'm playing the music on my computer and on my Rio, (no matter how bad that all might sound together) am I headed for 30 years behind bars?
I still don't think these are the answers. I resent the idea that I've bought the music with only the right to play it on the media that the music is currently on. I have some nice vinyl, but now that my record player is long gone and more convenient formats have come along, I feel it's perfectly legitimate for me to own a digital copy, no matter whether it came off my vinyl or someone else's CD.
Not owning the music is a completely different matter.
Yahoo finally realised that the advertising wasn't enough to keep the business floating forever? Even some of the worst magazines aren't completely advertiser supported. Someone, somewhere, has to pay a little more than nothing in order to keep it free for me. =)
Sounds like someone was a little sloppy with their "few minutes here and there".

Funny thing is, I get so much spam from Russia and China these days that I figure abuse@blah.ru is just a spambot waiting for me to report them.
Um. Unless you're making the amount of $$ that IBM makes per hour, you're not getting a dime.
You were probably just surfing for pr0n anyway, so they were doing you a favor by being down.
Because they have no right to take up my bandwidth that I am paying for without my permission. Period.
I give my permission for SANS and CERT and others to send me their mailings. No reason they all can't follow the same sane rules.
Send him to Texas and give him the chair!

OK, code monkey, that sounds like you volunteered. Start cranking out those dollar-signs and semicolons!

And not even a very good troll, at that.
Ya! Just because oatmeal can fit into an aqualung doesn't mean you should breathe it.
Just wait. A few more of these and Linux will run slow and bloated too. Sounds like we're moving backwards compared to other OS options.
I recall a version of MSIE for Solaris and HP-UX. Is that discontinued?

If it was $1 I still wouldn't pay for them to bombard me with ads.
Yeah, I really hate it when that popup ad jumps in front of the pr0n I'm drooling at.
