I support the right of women to choose an abortion. I also support the death penalty. I consider only supporting one of those two positions to be hypocritical.
Hmm, actually it does. Not often, but it does happen. And then there is the whole issue of chloroplasts and mitochondria were once bacteria, and well...
You were misinformed. Cars can use E85 (often referred to as FlexFuel) but do not require it. I have a a car than can take E85, but unless it is about 50 cents a gallon cheaper than gas, I do not bother.
All the E85 sticker on the car means is that the fuel lines are designed not to dissolve with the higher ethanol percentage. If you did not mind replacing the fuel lines and a few other parts when they dissolved away, you could run E85 in a standard car and engine.
Turning off Broadcast SSID is like locking the screen door. It does nothing to prevent unauthorized folks from entering, and it hinders many authorized folks.
It sure changes the available bandwidth. SSH will use less bandwidth than say RDP or VNC. A GUI also uses more resources on the server. Say what you want, it is dumb to unnecessarily run a GUI.
Exactly. Why would I want to go to some theater, listen to folks talk on their cell phones, talk to their neighbors, and generally interrupt the show. I can watch a Blu-Ray on my nice LCD TV in the comfort of my home, with the only people watching it are me and whomever I invite, and plenty of nice snacks that I did not have to pay ridiculous prices for.
The Theater experience is so bad anymore that it is just not worth it.
They ship the box not as plain brown packaging. Often times UPS/Fedex/US Post Office will leave a box on your front door step be cause that is far more convenient than having to go to the local office and pick it up two days later. Problem is that when it is advertised as something specific that is high price tag, you entice people to steal it.
Widgets. I really like being able to unlock my phone and see the weather and not have to go searching for the app to display the weather.
Freedom. I can make Android do what I want rather than the iOS model were I change my behavior to suit the Phone.
Back when I got my iPhone 3g, it was the only good smart phone available. It was the first phone that had a decent interface (even blackberries suck compared to an iPhone). Now, Android phones can behave like an iPhone, but you can change it so that it behaves the way you want.
In most areas you have two regulated monopolies providing internet services. You might be lucky and have a third small player that is entirely beholden two one of the two big monopolies (thrid party DSL). Technically you have your cellular carrier as an option, but that will be expensive and limited.
So Yeah, you can go with the telephone company or the cable company. Lots of choice there, and both are and should be heavily regulated.
I sure don't want my cable company to have the option to limit or block Netflix and Hulu, or my phone company to limit or block Skype and Vonage and Google Talk.
So the digital ebook libraries are already here. This Amazon thing is just a gimmick to help drive Kindle sales. I'll stick with my Nook and be able to read every format of ebooks besides the Kindle's proprietary format, nor do I need to worry about someone deciding to lock me out of my books.
I have dealt with an amazing amount of Dell hardware, and have been impressed enough to have bought several Dell laptops for myself. My experiences are quite different than yours. Sure hard drives fail, and I have seen the occasional bezel crack, but overall they are some pretty rugged machines. Even more importantly, they last quite well. The first dell I bought, I sold after 3 years to a fellow coworker, and his daughter still has it.
As far as pricing, it was on sale. If you catch Dell at the right time, you can get some amazing deals. This summer they had a number of Notebooks that were several hundred dollars off. I bought an Inspiron 17r that is pretty similar to the System76 17" notebook, that was half the price.
I had bought an Alienware notebook that was cheaper than any other similarly specced machine. Unfortunately it got stolen. Dell has some pretty nice stuff.
Green means go, and red means stop. If I am going to initiate some process, I would look for a green button. If I was to stop a process, I would look for red. How obtuse are you, Troll?
A number of banks allow you to generate a temporary cc number with a preset spending limit. If you do not trust a retailer, use that. If you trust Paypal, well that is a push system.
Perhaps you need better laws. In the US, the most you can be held liable for is $50 and most Credit cards hold you to $0 liability. At that point it is in the Store's best interest to make sure the card is legit as they will be the ones left holding the bag.
The genre for Star Wars is Space Opera, where as Star Trek is Science Fiction.
Space Opera is Fantasy with a veneer of Science Fiction. Aliens, Lasers and Space ships replace Elves, Swords and Dragons, but no real attempt to explain how the science works.
At my job, we have Lexmarks that will not only fax and copy, but scan and send to an email address. The scan to an email is only slightly more complex than faxing, in so far as the typical work email address has a few more characters than a phone number.

I think the more important question is if Ethanol will produce a less net CO2 emissions than gasoline.

Seriously, this is a non-issue in the Unix world. There are a number of ways to handle from log files, curses, ssl web pages, et cetera.
Hmm, 20 years- length of a patent. I wonder if there is a correlation.

In most cases, you are not out any money, as it will get refunded; though you might be without your ATM card for a few days.
If your ATM card has the backing of Visa or Mastercard and used as a Credit Card, then you are in the worst case scenario out $50.

What? The Nook Color is the same Price Point. What Are you talking about?
It can work if you have a compatible Printer from the Manufacturer.

"...Whitehurst claims that they can't make money on Linux desktops..."
I think that says it all. If you are going to put Linux on the desktop, why pay for it when there are many fine free options?
A number of Libraries offer Overdrive, which lets you download up to 7 books for 21 days. http://www.overdrive.com/
Then there is the http://www.baen.com/library/

If you can't fulfill the auction return the money and call it done. Any returns? I would say they are out of luck.

What, your computer has a GPS? If not then how did it know where you were? If you were manually changing it, then the issue likely rests with you.
