I have found my Nook to be just fine for reference books, and illustrations (if you don't mind grey scale). Problem is, it is mediocre at best with rendering PDF's. Unless the PDF was designed for the small screen, it is either too small to read easily or does not display well with pages split up on another screen.
Right now there are very few reference books that are not PDF. That is the limitation.
Pricing is indeed a problem, though a few publishers like Baen do pretty good on pricing their Ebooks.
I have found that I prefer reading on the Nook instead of paperbacks novels. The Nook is easier to hold in one hand.
It is NOT lazy teachers, you self righteous asshole.
It is parents like yourself who do not raise their kids to have respect, that are a problem. When parents sue the school for disciplining their kids, when parents refuse to discipline their kids, and when parents refuse to support teachers; then what do you expect to happen.
Stop using a computer. Stop driving a modern car. And stop receiving modern health care. Stop talking on a cell phone. Stop watching cable (cable gets much of its programming from Satellite) or satellite tv. Stop using GPS. All this is because of the space program.
And stop posting on slashdot, that is theft of service from your employer.
It is more likely the huge price tag rather than the huge size. I wanted the DX, but could not justify the several hundred dollars more for the device.
I am more than happy to pay for the occasional person that is out of a job and happens to let the insurance lapse for a bit. I was out of work for a year myself and it sucks, and you are forced to let some things slide so you can pay to eat and still try to find a job.
It is the bastards to cheap to pay for insurance or are such poor drivers that their insurance is so expensive that should be kept off the roads. The guys with a half dozen or more points that are driving without insurance, yeah, those bastards need to be removed from the streets. The ones with suspended licenses, no sympathy.
You really think the IT admins were at fault? And not the managers that almost assuredly would not approve the downtime, overtime, etc, to upgrade the servers? This is management at fault.
Dell uses the same connector for all their bricks and notebooks. They have a couple of different wattages, but the notebooks will power on even if using a lower wattage brick, just at reduced efficiency. So the ideal of one power brick for all notebooks is quite feasible.
Really, your naivete is charming. This has nothing to do with your espoused idealism, and everything to do with with a dictatorship trying to control information. You have a guy that has been "President" since 1991, and was the party leader for the region in the decades before when it was part of the USSR. KZ has been ranked one of the worlds most corrupt countries.
Think maybe the folks at Google realize that the ploy to have a data center in KZ is just so that KZ can seize said data center.
Not only is it used by NATO, but by the Airlines and air traffic controllers, and is often adopted by by many phone service companies when they need to spell over the phone. Not that uncommon and should be fairly self explanatory.
Get a damn clue. The Grandparent posted at almost the same time as the one earlier post for Scientific Linux, and much earlier then anyone else. Perhaps idiots like yourself should first learn how to read threaded discussions before posting.
I also understand that NDA's provide consideration. If you are going to give something up, you need to receive something in return.
Before the SCOTUS gave that deplorable ruling on arbitration, I would say that an NDA to gag disclosing the results of a service you paid for would not be enforceable.
HDMI to VGA/DVI adapters are $5, and a VGA to RGB adapter is $10. So it becomes having a few cheap peripherals at home (USB Hub, Keyboard, Mouse) and a Monitor, or decent TV for a Display. It may not be a help to the very poorest family but sure would be to those that have an extra tv, and could spare $25 so the child could make use of a computer at home.
I could see plenty of cases where this could be helpful.
It is mostly the zoom features and the ability to rotate.
That and sites just work like they do with a desktop browser. I recently tried Blackberry (Maybe a Pearl) and it would not display sites right, neither does the Storm. Also tried a touch screen Samsung, and it was not quite right either.

Pretty much only the Kindle does not support ePub. Everything else pretty much supports ePub well.

When I got in Google+ a few weeks ago, I had like maybe 5 other people already using it. Now, I have over 150, with 5-10 people joining a day.

You have never met the right cats, or the wrong girls then.

Is it hard to figure out that to edit your profile picture you click "edit profile"?
Or just go with Titanium frames. Lighter weight with better strength.

More likely, the features means the router competes with more expensive products.
The US does too, or perhaps you might want to test it out by stating one of those things that get the Secret Service to come visit you personally.

Not just the Kindle, but the Nook B&W model does the same things.
You obviously have access to a computer. So dedicated hardware is an option as well.
Besides I bought my nook for well less than $100. Sure, it was refurbished, but then B&N was clearing out Inventory to get rid of the first gens.

Yeah, I have a wireless mouse keyboard combo from my old MythTV box that I use for the PS3.
Wrong. Take a look at what Microsoft did with Kerebos. http://www.justice.gov/atr/cases/ms_tuncom/major/mtc-00029523.htm

Dropping a day of delivery is good. Everything else is idiotic.
