  1. Real computers are for everyone on Has the Command Line Outstayed Its Welcome? · · Score: 1

People like Roberto, and Steve Jobs as well, assume there are no consumers doing software development, or any type of real work. They assume consumers are idiots, incapable of doing complex operations or needing real control.

  2. Biased to workstations/desktops on The Windows 8 Power Struggle: Metro Vs Desktop · · Score: 1

I am clearly biased as I hate all touch devices, so this change in the new Win8 OS that defaults to something that would work on a touch device and not on a desktop is completely fail for me. Apple has always believed people are too dumb to use the same machines / workstations they use to make apples, they simplify them to first grade level (as an exmple). Now the move seems to be (by everyone) to go to gadget computers (I like to call them GCs) so they can not only take away the basic computing out of the equation but replace it with a kiosk to an online store. Why do these idiots assume people want to do all their computing on the go, like writing critical heart monitoring software while riding a bus? Workstations will always exist where there is a set environment in which work takes places. GCs can go to hell.

  3. Re:Ridiculous on 'Of Course We Are In a Post-PC World,' Says Ray Ozzie · · Score: 1

I have to add that the future of computing as gadget computers or GCs is frightening as they allow the provider to take away control of the computer so that the GC is basically only a kiosk to their online store.

  4. Ridiculous on 'Of Course We Are In a Post-PC World,' Says Ray Ozzie · · Score: 1

This is the same mistake Apple spouts and it's the assumption to sell a gadget world, a simpler than PC (and transportable) world, because the masses are not smart enough to handle a real computer workstation, or they don't need one. If MS really think's PCs are not for the masses then they should put their money where their mouth is and have all MS employees including software devs switch to pads. Ridiculous.
