Actually Obama's problem was a lack of experience in politics, associations with some shady folks and not really standing hard on anything. I guess his presidency has proven that though. Palin, well her list of problems is incredibly large (more than Obama's I might think). She is ignorant and a complete tool, to make it short.

As someone against the "reform", I am against it because it is federal govt taking control where it has no basis, as well it is forcing states to take it when they are not constitutionally bound to. The idea is nice, implementation, not so much.

I like the idea of learning a proper language, however the other day I picked up a book on basic web programming (CSS, X/D/HTML, JavaScript) and to be honest the books are atrocious! Knowing how to use the stuff, and seeing the presentation in these books I can see why it is hard to learn new languages with the same people writing this nonsense. I have never seen a simple idea like CSS so overcomplicated. Make a PHP for beginners, with the usual hello world but throw some real world applications and implementations of scripts.

Consider that Europeans and Asians had nobody to hold their hand when they developed technological and infrastructure improvements. Perhaps Africa is substantially lacking because they do not have the abstract thought needed for these improvements? I recall an effort in the DCR to protect some gorillas. The reserve officers relied on repeater radios, which were promptly looted for whatever was in the shacks. Bring broadband to the area? Prepare to replace lines constantly.
