Could the data be looked at differently to say that people with brain abnormalities are drawn to play sports that demand more physical contact? Also, what does, "self-injurious head banging" mean? Can I sue MTV for the years I watched "Head-Bangers' Ball?"
There's been at least one case of a parent of a child who's allergic to tree nuts suing a city to remove (e.g. chop down) all nut-bearing trees. I never heard of such an allergy when I was a kid, I bet the cause is related to environment rather than genetics. Children live more and more in houses that are nearly airtight using antibacterial products all the time...can't be beneficial to their immune system. An experiment where one child lives in a home playing XBox all day v. a child who plays in a cow pasture would probably result in the child who plays in a dirtier environment would grow up healthier. Of course this would be unethical but I bet we could study communities who farm v. communities who live in the city and the farming community's children would have less allergies and be generally healthier.
Yes other than the part about getting off my "fatt arse". Not sure why/.ers have to be so jaded and spiteful.
I believe mankind assisted in making the world warmer due to evidence and timelines but I don't think we can say definitively what caused it and therefore what to do to reverse it. Additionally, I don't think mankind is smart enough to correct the problem and would do more harm than good.
To me it looks like you're looking for a fight and are parsing my words to fit your narrative. I don't think we're too far apart just that I think mankind cannot and should not try to "fix" global warming, rather we should work to minimize our impact on the environment and let nature fix itself. Consider it a hard lesson for mankind.
I was being sarcastic pointing blame. Not sure why blame needs to be assigned to anyone...blame the person who found fossil fuels. Or, in the words of President Obama, "You didn't build that..." therefore the resulting emissions aren't yours either.
I have been keeping up with science but we weren't smart enough to see this coming so what makes you think we're smart enough to see the potential negative consequences of trying to fix global warming? Odds are we might slow warming but who's to say we don't mess something else up even more. Our hubris may be our undoing...
That's what I was going to say. I've read similar stories on BigThink about how humans are "evolving" but it's hard to evolve until some form of stress is placed on humankind which enables a mutation to benefit the holder of said mutation.
No worrying...I think mankind exacerbated the natural heating/cooling cycle of Earth but doubt we can do anything to reverse it. We should just focus on living within the world we've created, learn from our past (we usually don't), and move forward. If the western world reduced ozone-depleting pollutants it would barely do anything as the developing nations are doing what we did (e.g. using cheap fossil fuels to grow and develop) so how can we blame them.
Agreed, science/evolutionism and religion/creationism can coexist just fine. Not sure why people this they're mutually exclusive. When I see scientists try to disprove religion they can't...religious groups rejoiced when astronomers and physicists proved the big bang most likely happened as it fell in line with, "Let there be light." I think religion is interesting and generally good for people...as it science.
The cycles are centuries long and go back almost a million years. It's entirely possible to have something cyclical and trend in a direction. It's kind of like having ripple voltage on a DC voltage, the ripple is the remnants of the AC signal that got through but it's riding on a DC voltage. What if the DC voltage were slowly increased from 10VDC to 20VDC, how would that affect the cycle (e.g. AC ripple riding on it)? It wouldn't. Another way to look at it is a sine wave of a relatively short duration (e.g. 1,000 years) between ice buildup and ice melt riding on another sine wave that may last 100,000's of years that slowly increases in average temperature.
This news isn't anything new as there's been plenty of stories about the shrinking ice sheets in Greenland and the Andes in the last decade. The part that's in debate is the cause...is this anthropogenic, cyclical, or a combination of the two? Looking back at data from various sources shows it's cyclical with a trend towards ice melt not being restored by the subsequent winter ice freeze from one year to the next. This results in less ice (derka derka). Nobody can say with certainty what's causing this and it would be futile to try to reverse it; it will all work itself out when humankind goes extinct:)
This looks like a great opportunity to build and sell home air defense kits to shoot those pesky drones down so long as they're over your property and at an altitude of 500ft or less. How can you prove the drone is not 10 feet north/south/east/west of your property line and in your neighbor's property? Or, how they (e.g. "the man") prove that? Kind of a tricky thing to prove/disprove location prior to getting shot down by your home-brew SAM battery.
It has been:

Or, shred the documents, slather them in peanut butter, feed them to goats, feed the goats to lions, slaughter the lions, grind them into meatballs, cook them over an open flame, feed those meatballs to a tapeworm, then put the tapeworm through the shredder and repeat.
I'm being sarcastic, a shredder is adequate for even the most sensitive documents. These shredders are are the NSA's Evaluated Product List: https://www.semshred.com/level_6_shredders
Looking at the size and length of the shredded documents, it looks like the police used a $29 home shredder from Staples. They should spend a few more dollars and get a shredder that can reduce their paper to dust or at least small bits instead of long strips.
Why you place that as a response to my posting? I made no reference to conservative "evidence" but if I were to make an argument for the post I think you meant to respond to I'd use some "official data" such as the data found on the Bureau of Labor Statistics (http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/wkyeng.pdf) that actually shows median weekly salary went up ~$30 from Q1 2009 to Q3 2012. Not sure if it was inflation-adjusted but who cares as this isn't my fight...
I think the general feeling for the Obama administration is one of trepidation because we really don't know what his plan is for the next four years. I'm hopeful we can stop with the class/race/sexual orientation/gender warfare and just fix things that need fixing...generally you start with the most important things, not legalizing weed, legalizing same sex marriage, etc. Fix the big things first then, right before we self-actualize, we can focus on all the other issues of the day but you don't focus on the quality of your beer when your house is burning, you put out the fire first.
I remember numerous stories from the 90's where businesses would booby trap their business to stop thieves and I thought in every case this was illegal. One business owner I remember released a few poisonous snakes in his business and posted signs outside saying to stay out because poisonous snakes were on patrol. Eventually the thieves returned to the scene of their previous crime, broke-in, and got bit. Following American customs, they sued the business owner and won.
Not sure what the defense argument was but I'd think electrified copper would result in the same thing and the criminals would sue.
Liberals make unsupported accusations...it's part of their strategy. Rhetoric alone can stop the conservatives [sarcasm] who are all racists who want to push grandma off the cliff anyways [/sarcasm].
Pigeon is served at high-end restaurants but they call it squab. Supposed to be delicious but I bet they're raised on good feed and not city trash and feces.
Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
That's why we don't store our data in a cloud hosted in China...

Obviously this is George Bush's fault.

Yup, that was my source. Now leave a little something in the tip jar on your way out please.

Yeah, I had looked for a search function from within the Windows App Store and it's not there.
