It looks good but it seems to basically be a Palm clone. Unless it can boast significant advantages because of it's Linux OS, I imagine that it would only appeal to those of us who just want to say, "Yes, it runs Linux"..
The Ipaq's advantage IMHO is that it hopefully would only take a recompile to port applications so we could use applications we are familiar with.
How about taking some old computers, some old version of Redhat (4.x, 5.x) and letting the kids install it, then upgrade the kernels, ad drivers, etc... Teach them the real inner-workings of a computer instead of the point-click-crash world. They would be doing problem solving, working as a team, could be some programming, networking, etc...
Beware InstantDB. Tried to use it a couple of months ago with a ad server and had nothing but problems. Major memory hog made worse by memory leaks and poor performance. I switch to MySQL and performance tripled and it hasn't crashed since.
No, I don't think I have missed the point. If someone owns a road that people use to get to your business, and they decide to tear it up for no good reason and cut off access to your business, they are going to get sued. It doesn't matter WHO owns it, if they do something unfair and malicious, it their heads on the line.
Register.com has a web based form to transfer registar. I can't imagine NSI doing anything to muck it up as wouldn't that make them libel for business losses?
Anyone else found a good place to buy these online? I really dread giving my business to Circuit City (remember DIVX?). That and I also live in Okc and I fear that the lone Circuit City here is probably already sold out.
Ok, first off, we Americans do NOT have a two party system. We have always had multiple parties. It's just that most TV brained people can't keep up with more than two. It's thankfully changing though.
Second, it is usually easy to tell the difference. Where does the money come from? Private donations or tax dollars? Parties, although they probably do receive some government funds, receive most of their money from private donations, thus that ARE NOT part of government.
If this is true, and you are a poster on Slashdot, then this would mean you too are a moron. This said though, I agree with your stance on non OSS software. Heck, I say bring on companies willing to sink cash into developing software for Linux. We don't have to use their products, we can develop our own if we choose. To shun companies like that will only keep Linux and OSS under the "hobbyist" label.
