    If you have a hotmail account, you have a passport. You're telling them that you were ready to give personal information to enter a contest but you didn't want to give personal information for Passport? With Passport, you sign up once and whenever you enter a contest you don't have to go through given the same information over and over again.

    Btw, i'm using Win XP and in my experience so far, i didn't even have to deal with passport. I removed Windows Messenger and that's it. Their's also an option to activate passport automatically upon logon, but this option is hidden in the users manager section of the control panel and it's not even activated by default.

    Also, my mother still picks out my clothing for me. Decisions like this worry me so much.

    True and some other people. Anyone who can pick out clothes for me and pay for them is welcome. I don't think that clothes are worth money, they should be free.

    You're a Linux user, why should it scare you? Besides, those companies who always complain that they don't want to buy an upgrade have now the option of renting the software and always having an up-to-date version.

    well the only reason I oppose the adoption of Linux is because of that mentality that everything should cost $0. I don't feel like loosing my job.

    No we didn't, only criminals should have their freedom restricted. The police will get a warrant if you're a suspected criminal or something.

    That's exacly how the Talibans took over Afghanistan, they said they would guarantee the people's safety and look at them now, look at them.

    Linux distributions don't have much software to call their own, and when they do, they make sure to bundle it with the distribution and it's perfectly understandable. Imagine what will happen if KDE sued RedHat because GNOME is installed as the default desktop. If mySQL sued Mandrake because only postgreSQL is included with Mandrake. You can't possibly expect Linux distributions to bundle hundreds of software that do the same thing. And you can't possibly expect, Windows, a proprietary OS to bundle software made by it's competitors.

    Looks like Linux and Windows are threatened by the government. Soon enough we won't be able to use any of those OS's freely. Anyway that'll teach you to have double standards. Linux users are happy when MS get slapped by the government and Windows users are happy when Linux get slapped by the government. You digged your own graves. Instead of coming together and fighting the crazy laws, nah.

    I've been to Europe a few times and their's plenty of Anti-American sentiment in their. They're extremely Jealous of the U.S..

    If I was MS, I would stop publishing Windows in Europe, besides who'll buy Windows without the bundled software? Europeans will be forced to switch to Linux, the best European OS. Their's no way a European OS will get sued.

    I've got only one thing to say to the EU. Take your Window CD's, shine them up real good and stick them up your candy asses.

    I don't know how much cheaper it would become but I wouldn't buy it even if it was free. I will be forced to switch to OS X. an OS without an Internet browser, a Media Player, an IM, CD copying, video editing, a few games, etc. wouldn't be worth much. Really who would buy an OS that won't let'm do his common daily tasks?

    Of course they could use Linux and Open Source but it's the DoD, their philosophy is not to be Open, it's to be as close and as secretive as possible. Looks to me like they got the OS's that match their philosophy. It's not like they're going to develop Open Source software.
