For those of you who prefer to ignore facts. Let me remind you that IBM is behind RAND. How can they claim to be supportive of the Open Source movement while at the same time doing something exactly the opposite of what Open Source preaches???
Really I mean, Bin Laden is jealous of the U.S. because it's a successfull and powerfull country that made a few mistakes (which he keeps on talking about) yet doesn't do much to help his people. Same goes for Slashdot, they're afraid of MS because it's a successfull and powerfull company who happened to make a few mistakes (they keep on talking about them) and do very little in order to help with Linux issues. If you look closely you'll see that very few of their articles talk about Linux.
The problem is that the Taliban is one of the worst governments ever seen. Treating women that way is awfull, so I don't see how the U.S. could've done things differently.
Yes, millions of people hate USA, I was surprised to see that even some french canadian people hate them. I think that people who hate the USA are simply jealous or misinformed. Some has valid reasons for sure, but terrorism and violence won't fix their situation.
Women in Afghanistan are willing to die for their rights. I'm sorry that a few civilians will die but they won't die in vein, hopefully a new good government will be instored in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, Bin Laden will probably be unharmed.
but what's happening, those reviews portray you more like a rookie writer who uses the old and trusted writing techniques learned in school. Where's the creativity, the magic, the uniqueness, the "je ne sais quoi" that sets you apart from the others? On the other hand, I guess doing a review of that kind of movie can't be too inspiring.
As many of you had noticed. I'm more of an Anti Open-Source guy. However, I'm glad to see open source used in the government. I'm perfectly okay with Open source as long as it's used by the government, research institutions, education and non profit organisations. For any other type of organisation I would go with EULA type licenses. I don't think that huge, for-profit companies deserve anything for free. For me, it's all about justice, they take our money, we take theirs. Don't be victims, fight back.
So let me get this straight. If people thought like you, it would be okay if they went out and killed people just to prove that hey it's so easy to do so?
yes, so many good companies around. They can do Linux, Mac, Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, hardware, apache, sendmail, php, asp, jsp, etc. I mean, really, how fun can it be when they don't specialise in something?
oooh oh I found a company who's more Evil than MS and crazier than Steve Jobs. Seriously though, I see no reason for me to switch. KOffice and MS Office are doing their job. I was going to try StarOffice and see how it looks but their stupid Registration process discouraged me.
I agree with your agreement. I don't like it but I don't want government intervention. I can take care of myself, government should stop telling people what to do.
Hehe yes that reminds me of a job interview I had a long time ago. They insisted that I had to know Dreamweaver. They just wouldn't understand that coding in raw html is even better.
As for gimp, it's close to Photoshop but it's not as good and not as user friendly.
I'm not an MS employee, I don't like working for others. well I was making a joke about EA Sports but someone told me that their's a group of people that are considering to sue them seriously and they had similar arguments. Crazy world we live in, you can't breath without being sued nowadays.

I'm afraid you're right, but what solution do you propose?
Women in Afghanistan are willing to die for their rights. I'm sorry that a few civilians will die but they won't die in vein, hopefully a new good government will be instored in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, Bin Laden will probably be unharmed.
except maybe over 10k of Pakistanis

Okay and since Jeep Cherokee's are the most stolen cars around here does that really mean that they're less secure than my Lada?
They do have to write viruses, they do have to break in, etc. So no, it doesn't look like an OPEN DOOR.
So let me get this straight. If people thought like you, it would be okay if they went out and killed people just to prove that hey it's so easy to do so?
The article doesn't mention that GNOME is free. How could they miss that?
I see. Let me get this straight? you blame MS, yet you don't think that the admins or the virus authors should be blamed?
They compared the Win2k Advanced Server version to the WinXP Desktop version. As we all know, IBM isn't biased at all :)

Is StarOffice not Open Source anymore? Anyway I'm sticking with KOffice and MS Office on my boxes.
I really don't get it, where's the Source?
Maybe the music industry doesn't know that but WMP8 in my experience asks the user if they want to enable digital rights managment or not.

We've got ourselves a naughty operating system. I'm sure adult webmasters will be delighted :)
The 4th screenshot says : "Installing Mac OS 9.2 onto Mac OS 9.2", now that's awesome stuff :)

I don't like Apple because of the obvious reasons but I agree that a consistent look and feel is important.
Oh you're right, they only insist that we use their hardware. No big deal.
