  1. Re:The root of the problem is infinite credit on FCC Will Tackle Cell Phone 'Bill Shock' · · Score: 1

A year ago, a council member of a Spanish city had a 35,000 EUR charge over three months because her daughter used her 3G USB data device, over the cellular network, to download "lost". The service was paid by the municipality, and they asked her for the money. The girl used her mother data card on her laptop since the Wi-Fi signal of the house did not reach her room.
Why the cellular company did not disconnect the service after some overuse?

  2. Go Prepaid!!! on FCC Will Tackle Cell Phone 'Bill Shock' · · Score: 1

Actually, go prepaid.. I gave up my Verizon plan and went to PagePlus (pagepluscellular.com) keeping my phone and still using the Verizon network. Now I just add the minutes I need. 400 minutes for $25.. I don't need more and they are valid for 4 months.
There are other services such as Free Talk offering similar services. SEE: http://technorati.com/technology/article/is-your-cell-phone-bill-outrageous1/

Actually Google was running TV ads just a few weeks ago. It is a great service, and connects the call for free, so if you don't have long distance and need to call a business outside your home calling area is great. About free services, Google Voice is great, if you live in the US or Canada, have a Gmail account and don't have a Google Voice number get one now! look at the features, it is great.

The BBC called the iPad "a glorified toy", but the numbers are there: 4 million units in less than 5 months. I just try to look at the business market. Tablets are for hardware vendors what 3D is for TV now: an opportunity to raise profits. The mobile market is where people make money now

  5. Re:50 texts per day, on average?? on Texting On the Rise In the US · · Score: 1

I believe it is a lot, and if you take out the time during class (many schools ban cell phones in the classroom) then is more than 10 msgs per hour. Heavy users can send 2-3 text msgs/minute. What do they say? "I'm texting again"?

I'm from Spain, and you are right about that, but now they like to text as much as possible. Texting in Spain is still expensive (15 eurocents) and they don't offer unlimited packages.

Europe was using ETACS for many years, and 450MHz and 900 MHz bands, but GSM was the real Universal system, and the one you could actually travel with.

  8. This is only publicity... for free on Ryanair's CEO Suggests Eliminating Co-Pilots · · Score: 1

C'mon... this is all about free publicity... RyanAir know that will "not fly"... 90% of their suggestions are just to attract media attention, and they are doing it quite well. They don't care about reputation, they only care about being seen as "the cheap" airline...
