    yea I hear that every single year, and I usually get suckered into dicking with it, so spending a shitton of time "tweaking" it and I might get a game that functions but runs slow as snot and has a lot of graphical artifices or anomalies, about the only thing I have gotten to run right on it is the older GTA games (1-SA)

    ok tux racer is kind of fun, and occasionally if a game was made in open GL companies might release a linux client (ie ID there for a little bit) but wow games on linux, that didnt run like garbage with wine???

    gimpshop exists because people are afraid of change, that is why the interface to my copy of photshop3 on the mac looks nearly identical to photoshop 7 on windows, and CS on modern machines

    change the layout of things and people riot, see MS office circa 2007

    yes colour us tickled pink, they used slow ass serial ports and a software patch to eventually introduce a proprietary network that no one outside of the apple world even cared about, and in blissful ignorance supported it up until the 21st century

    for over 30 years apple has never been able to break into the business market in any significant way(site the ///, lisa, macintosh II, quadra, power PC) ! and the fact they "simply" dont want into that market is pure horseshit, they spent the better parts of the 80's and 90's trying to do JUST THAT, but now rather than accepting defeat they have this mentality of "oh we dont want that", yea, now you dont after failing in it for 2/3rds of your existence you twats in denial.

    um these people have been making their own brand of software since before 1976, in this day and age if they havent by now why would they, its not like databases are anything new, and they were a big fucking deal right in the heyday of apple ... and yet they licenced it

    well I have an older ATI card in a linux box in the other room, if I load the propitary drivers as soon as X loads the screen shuts off, so I agree ATI+Linux = worthless

    yea my 9600GT kicked my 7600GT right square in the nuts, actually just about any card after the 7600GT would have rocked it, your comparing a sports car to a yugo. The 7600GT was the absolute worst waste of money I have ever spent on a video card as my 6600GT actually performed just as well

    really what is the point of this any more? 90+ % of your games are optimised for consoles first giving you at best a geforce8800GT, computer monitors are not getting any higher resolution and they still have not come up with a cooling system that doesnt clog with dust in a month!

    try replacing your hard drive without 3rd party software or hardware, try replacing your video card without that extra 128K BITS (yes bits) of bios on it, try compiling GCC without downloading their version of it and signing up for a service, try to use your software when they arbitrarily change architectures again .... for the 5th fucking time.

    Apple is great for users that have not owned apple products, most of the (normal) people I talk to feel that, yes the apple experience is great, but no they would not buy one again due to its cost, maintenance, and software headache for a GP computer.

    at the time I had never used a debian based system, and was unaware of stuff like dpkg and apt-get, after mandrake I went to ubuntu and years later pretty much wont install something if it does not have the weight of debian's repositories behind it

    I know when I stopped using mandrivia, it was the moment that they switched names from mandrake and would only offer the new version (11?) if you bought the disc direct from them.

    Which might have been worth while if it was not just a generic as hell redhat with a graphical installer (ohhh)

    except when inexpensive (for the time) inkjet printers did hit the market full force in the early 90's they where a godsend, cheap color, near laser quality, fast, and most importantly didnt sound like an industrial machine raping the transmission in your car

    Ok so your going to drive to the store, find the product you want, scan it on amazon, save really nothing since you already wasted the time and gas, wait a week for it to ship and then if you dont like it pay to ship it back, wait another week etc

    and with amazon charging sales tax now and in the near future is it really worth it?

    well thats all great and fine and good but the use of bluetooth in this MESH NETWORK is purely convenience it could have been any radio system, and I still stand behind my original statement

    buzzword or not having a transmitter on you does not make it an instant proximity detector, you could make it into one like above using a mesh network, or you could triagulate it, but it doesnt fucking matter if its bluetooth, wifi, xbee or a fucking AM radio source playing Hank Williams
