  1. I CANT BELIEVE THIS! on Microsoft claims Linux provides weak value · · Score: 1

No, Microsoft should open its source, put thousands MORE people to work for it (indirectly, of course), stop causing inflation, enrich the computer business, and greet everyone with a big warm fuzzy hug! Let the world help it with its Y2K problems, and prove it wishes them well. THAT'S it, AC.

But I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for it to happen. :P

  2. RedHat is at Borders???? on Microsoft claims Linux provides weak value · · Score: 1

. . . and here I was impressed that they had end space at Best Buy. Wow. Thanks, MicroSerf. Ye've made me day! =)

  3. LinuxCare, Significant achievment? on LinuxWorld Show Favorites · · Score: 1

They sort of deflate the "We can't use Linux at our MetaInterConglomerate, LTD because someone like us needs 24/7 tech support."

  4. what composer is that? on LinuxWorld Show Favorites · · Score: 1

John Phillip Sousa. Guess which word of his name they mean.... ;)

American composer, wrote lots of marches. Oddly enough, the Monty Python Theme is a slightly speeded up version of his "Liberty Bell March." Or is it "Liberty March?" I forget.

  5. Not so Sure on GNOME 1.0.0 Pre-release · · Score: 1

Bah! Cows' stomachs are not at all efficient! Hence all the burping and cud-chewing that goes on. And without their symbiotic relationship with them-there bacteria, they'd be screwed.

An efficient (hey, it works for them!) means of obtaining sustenance? I guess so. Efficient stomachs themselves? Not at all.

No, I'm NOT a biologist who is mutating gradually into a computer geek. Why do you ask?

  6. Sci-Fi Shot that show in the foot on MST3K Cancelled · · Score: 1
Hey! Joe Don Baker is an American treasure! Okay, I
    • can't
say that with a straight face.
  7. SPAM == Junk mail on Virgina Criminalizes spam, ACLU against it · · Score: 1

You're overlooking the subtle difference. In the case of junk mail, the PO is compensated for the service it is providing. The excessive junk mail in your example will in part, at least, fund the hiring of the new workers needed to process it.

Spam is a denial of service without any due compensation, which is where the whole "theft" argument is coming from.
