I think alot of this has to do with the MBA boom of the last decade. You have alot of MBAs who hate management or are poor at management, they just want the $.
Have you ever seen a bunch off CompSci'ers trying to manage themselves? Its pathetic, they can't work well customers, have issues making/meeting time guidelines, feed/clothe/bathe themselves...
Seriously, management has its place, just like every other skill.
My biggest problem with having so many game systems, is that the controller wires always end up in knots. What I would love to see is a combo system that lets use just one set controllers that is switched to what ever system is currently active (like an AB switch). That being said, the woodworking is impressive, I loved the cd player top.
Its only a federal offence if you do it on Federal lands (aka.mil base) or go across state lines with it(Course they may try to get you on Fed charges, but a good lawyer should get you out of Fed court except on the above). Look here for more info on Fed laws: http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Gr oup_ID= 4575 That same link can take you to state laws which are usually more lienent. Also, most pot offences are just a fine and go home if its a small amount.
He lost to the wife of a dead guy because of the sympathy vote. If you look at the polls leading up to the lection, Ashcroft was leading till his competitor died. The Democrats played dirty in his election by using the widow, and now they are reaping their rewards.
Velex, Most vendors offer trial pieces of their software, this is especially true of MS. Here is a link to the 180 day trial of win2003. Most likely your boyfriend will be reinstalling alot before you ever reach the 180 day mark. Hope this helps ( use google and search the microsoft.com domain for other trials)

Don't worry, you just showed that the Network+ did exactly as its supposed to. All the Comptia (the +)certs are to show "entry-level" knowledge. Congrats, you showed you have entry level, exactly what you said you had. Now on a side note I do think the + exams are way too expensive, I think they should be in the $75 range.
As an ex-instructor at CEI, its all about leading a horse to water. First of all, 2 years at CEI is a long time which means she was screwin something up to drag it out that long. Second, I taught on average 20-30 students per class. Of that 10% were hard core into what they were doing, had the natural talent, and will probably succeed in IT. The next 20% had the natural talent, but didn't study hard and they might do well. The next 40% studied hard but didn't have the natural talent, they might suceed but it will be a hard road for them. The last 30% were waste, they were had no talent and didn't care about the courses. If anything CEI is better than most comp. schools in that the classes are longer (18 class days per class) and not too focused on certs(though you will get encouraged to take some).
Now for the main benefit for alot of certs is that vendors(Cisco, MS, etc.) will give the company kickbacks and benefits.
How bad is this war going? Do you want to measure by american soldier deaths? While 800 for a year seems alot, it is less than most battles of WWII, alot less than any yearin Vietnam. Heck, more people died from a hurricane alone this week. Or do you want to count Iraqi deaths? Alot less lives have been lost in the last year than the years before, or do you think those nice lil embargoes that went through the Clinton years were painless(given the choice I would rather die by being shot than starving)? How about all good things going on in Iraq(yes, contrary to most media outlets will let on there is progress). There are schools being built, roads are getting repaired, medical care is being given. If you think the ocupation is unduly harsh, may I suggest looking at the occupation of Germany right after WWII. War is hell, but it can have positive outcomes in the long run.
How do you figure west. boxing is so good? The lack of lower body protection is a big vuln.
On topic rant: China is big enough it can make its own standards work and translators will be implemented just like their is translators between just about any other competeing standards.
Land mines are very useful for helping overcome superiority of numbers. Think North Korea, they have alot of soldiers who could possibly overrun the South Korean/American defences if not for the land mines acting as a barrier. Also land mine technology has come a long way, it is now possible to set timers on them so they auto distruct after a period of time(24 hours, 1 week, etc.)
Since spamcop didn't respond in anyway to the motion for a TRO, it went something like this:
Spammer: these guys are interfering with my business. Judge: Any response? Judge: Well, I will have to trust you Mr. Spammer since the otherside never said anything.
In order for the goverment to care about this, you will have to put in a light that the current goverment administration cares about. Call your reps. and sens. and let them know how concerned you are over the various Nigerian scams and TTY scams in general funding "terrorist" activities. That will get the goverment to care (or possibly Nigeria invaded...).
You are right about the TACs, though my favorite is the Brussels one. Especially if you get a female engineer on the otherside....
Once Cisco's support made me feel somewhat guilty. I called in a hardware replacement request and sure enough the guy shows up in about 3 hours. However, later on I foundout that one of the worst blizzards ever was going on outside (I had been in the datacenter the last 16 hours).
What you pay for with Cisco is support. In my experience when you have a 4-hr contract with Cisco you will get your part in 4 hours. That can't be said with Nortel. I once had a next day contract with them and it took them till the next monday(it was tuesday) before I recieved the part. I had several other experiences similar to that later.
You usually can't buy a car without a stock stereo. I guess you could get the dealer to rip it out, but you would stll end up paying for it. BTW, I did end up buying a better stereo with my newest car than I wanted because the stereo automatically came with the other options I wanted.
What I want to know, is if a big fine is given out to Microsoft( a relative US owned corp), will it start a trade war between the US and EU?
What about food and shelter? Would you rather trust that those will be provided then have guns in the world to actually do so? Distruction is not always evil, it is how it is used that determines whether or not it is evil.
It would be just shy of impossibl;e for a virus strain to be isolated nowdays to just one continent, let alone just the US(people flee across borders when scared, thereby carrying the disease). This is why smallpox threat from terrorists from 3rd world nations is so ironic. Most likely in the event of a release of small pox, it would travel across the world rather quickly. Much of the 1st world nations (America, Canada, Western Europe) would have adequate supplies(vacinations, etc.) to combat it within their populations, but not enough to help out the 2nd and 3rd world populations. Those nations wouldn't be able to burn their dead fast enough, especially considering the secondary infections and disease that comes with large amounts dead people (cholera, etc.)
The national debt as a percent of the GDP is is not that high and in fact less than it has been in the past. Its like a millionaire can deal with 80k in debt without sweating, while that same debt would overwelm someone making just 30k

Quick history lesson, it has been done before with Lincoln's suspension of habeas corpus. Compared to Lincoln, Bush is a freakin easy going.

I'm going to steal that idea about asking about their home network and I wish someone asked that of me(p-t-p DS3 in the rack is my new pride and joy)

You aren't a history major are you? The freedom of the press over the 2nd gulf war is amazingly free in comparison to WWI and WWII.

Thanks for the reply, I guess it is different POV. I'm alot more militant than most people :)

Just a quick correction, the mortality rate was 2.5%, not 25%./
