This looks to me like Palm's plan for remaining competitive against handhelds like Sony's that can add more memory in via memory stick.
Palmsource is responsible for the PalmOS which is used by both Sony *and* Palm devices. It has nothing to do with flash memory (which is used by both hardware brands).
With this development, all Palmsource licensees including Sony and Palm can use up to 128MB internal memory to remain competitive with PocketPC devices.
Well I agree that the X interface is not as polished as the Windows 95 one, I love it's customizability however. But you certainly have a point with the X/GTK issue. I hope this will be fixed in the next major X release
As for the bugs.gnome.org hint, I don't think what I mean are really bugs but I'll look into that and try to be more specific:-). Like right mousebutton dragging and shift ctrl clicks etc.
Besides, why are some people always bragging about x-terms and cp in a GUI discussion? Why are they using X anyway?
will it be as good as the file manager from the OS from Redmond we all learn to hate? It always bothered me that it was easier to move files around under win95 than with one of the many X-based file managers in linux. Gnome's midnignt commander comes close, but it's still lacking. Any alternatives?
