I think AppleScript in its current incarnation with OSX provides the basic-level programming support for most any user out there. If decent texts and a watered down IDE for building apps in AppleScript is made available than more non-programmers will be able to venture into the hypercard like atmosphere.
I noticed that Daily Radar has some nice videos and screen shots of GT3. I believe the official release date is June 15th in the U.S.. There's speculation of a lan/internet based GT3 being released before that time in Japan. There very well may be quite a few versions of GT3 out on the market before next spring. All I can say is.. be prepared for the biggest and best racing game ever. I know I am.
This is so false. Why would two opposing forces join together? That's like saying, Luke Skywaler has now joined the dark side. Come on people now... or even better... Slashdot and Plastic have joined together to become Slashtic!
I think highspeed access is really openning some doors for the whole indie movie scene. I think it would be kinda lame if they started doing online movie festivals. Hmm... oh well.. hollywood sucks anyways.
Hmm.. I swear that Hitler had the same outlook on people of different faiths. Certainly the Holocaust was caused by someone filled with Hate and closed mind. Why stop something that isn't harming you, that is building up communities?
Seattle had it's worst t-storms in 15 years yesterday. There were over 2000 lightning strikes recorded over a 6 hour period. We're (CIS Dept. of SPU) on UPS systems, but that doesn't neccesarily mean that all systems are good to go during a power outage/flicker.
Well the problem was that Egghead (a seattle based chain) decided to work strictly with software. Then they implemented some perphrials into their store. However their downfall was that they sold strictly computer software/accessories. They did not venture into console video games like Electronic Boutique and Software Etc.
The internet shopping market is primarily based around the economy of the US. Currently the US makes up 1/2 the internet subscribers. It makes only sense that a product such as this be limited to the U.S. especially since they're not produced for the other power rating values (220, etc..)
and you're saying that Voc-tech schools will give you creativity?
I'm sorry but the job market is such where you need some form of formal education to actually be part of a team that develops a successful product. If you want to go codeing point and click games as a freelance programmer, thats your choice. However you are rolling a much higher sided dice.
I think the University of Quebec is working on a specific degree program called Game Programming in French. Apparently they were taken back at the fact that the old Sierra Quest games had an English script.
You would think, getting the 100 lives in Super Mario Brothers in Level 3 after 50 million attempts would surely be equivalent to the dissertation a Game Programming DOCTOR would face. Are we sure that this isn't just a major offered at Ziff-Davis University (www.zdu.com). Heh....
You bring up a good point. However you need to realize that every company starts somewhere. If Be can prove its power on these lower platforms, then certainly on higher end platforms it will outperform its competition. Furthermore, I think they will gradually gain third party support based on their gradual market gains...
I think if the guys at Be were on the ball about getting the full video hardware support I bet we'd all be in love with the system. I can successfully say that as a comp sci major I've already converted a bunch of my friends to starting to code in C++ for some of their assignments.
I'm expecting it to run much better under BEos. The pentium ][ architecture mixed with BEos's top down structural programming really creates a speed hungry beast.

Makes you wish you were japanese.
I think she goes to my college. At least I've heard the rumor.

Bring BEos to the G4. I'm sick of the Apple monopoly.
Maybe it will be ported to BEOS... there's an idea.
No, actually the code I mentioned is the stage select, 9 lives code. It works great... I cheated through TMNT2 many times with it.
I certainly hope they can produce a decent racing game.
Hmm.. the PSX original is outliving the N64... enough said... History will repeat itself again...
Coming from the owner of a n64....
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Arcade (NES) the code was B-A-B-A-U-D-B-A-L-R-B-A-START.
Try that out for kix.

Evolution is not science.. it is merely a religion based on physical change.

I really like the new logo, but wonder....
What does it mean? I received my 4.5 update cd and was bewildered by it. It looks like a question mark on acid.
