This could be brilliant, except attach the devices to a vehicle, there are less privacy concerns and I'd happily give up the location of my vehicle to the authorities for the extra security of being able to track it down if it gets stolen.
attaching it to people seems silly, but attach it to a vehicle that turns on only when the vehicle is running could work? an opt in method when purchasing the car as well to negate security concerns (with the bonus of having the internet with you where ever your car is near)
i think devices should be liable for aiding and abetting. we could set up a special jail for infringing equipment, call it Silicone bay, they don't have the right to contact a lawyer and they don't have the right to make a phone call.
i hope this is the beginning of rationalizing security threats. people are starting to realize that the knee jerk reaction from 9/11 may have been a bad idea.
if you take the gas your stealing, however if i park my car at the gas station, talk to the mechanic about the gas, check the prices, enquire about their distribution process, review the last quality check of the gas & flirt with the attendant for half an hour, i am not required by law to pay for me gathering the information about the gas.
i don't think any one would be justified in copying the content on their website and redistributing it. but they are essentially shouting information and then suing people who are listing to too much of it.
Who would have thought that identical twins brought up in a similar way would be... similar? i bet if you sold one of the twins to slavers you would have very appreciable differences in tastes and intelligence.
i think you need to understand that to be the best or one of the best you need to have the perfect / really good hardware, but anyone can learn how to run and run well, it may take longer for people to achieve a percieved success, but its still possible...
Think of it this way, because we are so similar in nearly everyway, even the slightest variations in function are accentuated. am i going to be able to become a world renowned long distance runner? probably not, am i going to be able to teach / train myself to do long distance running? without a doubt if i had the drive to.
In my opinion given the right circumstances any non defective brain should be able to learn the requirements for almost any job.
if you want to use your PC as an example, some PC's come with more ram or faster CPU, they are able to handle more tasks or deal with tasks quicker, it doesn't mean your standard computer cant run the same tasks.
i find personal interest in a subject has more to do with your perceived intelligence in that subject than any brain power, your right though, some people will never become rocket surgeons, but IMO that has very little to do with their brains ability and more to do with personal taste. if I'm not interested in becoming a surgical lawyer and studying it becomes boring for me I'm not going to retain the information and have no desire to understand the concepts.
in much the same way I'll never be a good laborer, i have no desire to work my self to physical exhaustion so I'll never get proficient in it.
For my personal life:
i have a text file called "StuffToRemember.txt", everything i may need to remember (appointments, special phonenumbers etc) goes in here, its quite sizable now but normally i just find my last entry if its something recent, if not i just do a search.
for non text based stuff i only ever keep something if its created by me, my downloads, music, videos etc. just get dumped when the harddrive dies. but if its photos I've been taking or any project work it sits in a folder called "Aarons stuff", organised by media type (text, 3d art, 2d art, photos, programming, etc), if there are more than 100-200 items i then drop them in to folders based on the year they were created.
for my social life: my phone is my social hub, contains facebook, contacts, events, etc, using just android inbuilt apps mostly.
for my work life: I'm a little more meticulous when it comes to work, i have a book of "concepts & programming tips", basically my own personal reference for things that take too long to find google resources. i then have my daily notepad which i just treat like my "stuff to remember", except in pen/paper format. then the filing cabinet with a different section for each major project, for the actual program code i just store and manage it manually.
even though I'm a programmer, if any information is worth anything to me i have to write it down at work, so that i feel like i won't loose it. but at home the opposite is true.
recap: home life i organize things electronically but maintain structure manually, for my social life i use whatever app works and let that organize / maintain my information. and for work i pen and paper everything important unless forced otherwise,
is mocking someone worth deprivation of liberty? which is what an arrest is, its just given the OK because its suppose to be in the public's best interest. is it really in the public best interest to arrest this girl for blowing bubbles? she could have been distracting him while a real crime occurred but he was also on the other side of the fence as well, with no reason not to simply step back.
so you think police are justified in arresting people because they are doing something that the policeman disagrees with on a personal level?
Really? that's your argument?
what if i find out a cop has a particular religious affinity? and i go out of my way to mock that affinity "God a fag" or something to that affect? would he be justified in arresting me then? how is this different?
Also, the female cop obviously saw the funny side of this, she was smirking quite a lot.
