Steam runs native on Mac, and has for quite some time, as well as almost any game that uses Source (at least all the ones I've seen). Valve is trying to break out of the Windows-only market.
Just trying to find alternatives to the software I liked.
That's really the only reason I still have a Windows install-software I need/want. Hardly any of the games I play have a comparable Linux version (and really the only thing I ever do on Windows is game). Some work with WINE, but not very well.
While you have a point (that I agree with), I'd just like to point out that the Justice Department had to ask to get the records. They couldn't just grab them without a judge agreeing.
Well first of all I really doubt FB would suspect all German accounts. Remember, to them customers are products. Though I can see Facebook users rioting... Some undoubtedly would figure out ways around the block. It would advance proxy technology by a decade:D
"Mr. Pincus told this employee he had too many unvested shares and had to return a portion of them or Mr. Pincus would fire him. If so, he would lose all of the unvested stock."
In TFA, they stated that employees were told if they were fired they would lose all stocks. So they either could give up their stock and keep their job, or lose both.
If a government employee is talking about something unclassified then it's already something China can probably get its hands on without too much difficulty. And people discussing research and work already have that problem-cell phone calls can be snooped without too much difficulty.
Heck, in Singapore, supposedly a bastion of "democracy" in Asia - you get hauled in front of a court on trumped up "anti-sedition" laws if you try and start a protest march without a "license".
It's that way in the US too.... Generally you are supposed to get a license before protesting.
Doesn't the GPL say that you either distribute or make easily available? The linux header files are easily available. All Google has to do is put a link to them in the source-code.
Then again I haven't actually read the GPL for a while, so I could be horribly wrong.
AFAIK (and I don't know an amazing amount about guns so correct me if I'm wrong) the term "assault rifle" generally means a fully automatic weapon. Personally I'd find a hunting rifle with a good scope to be more dangerous, but for a lot of people the ability to spray a ton of bullets into a crowd is more frightening.
Would be interesting to see Netflix move to HTML5. I don't know if that is even technologically feasible (considering their DRM requirements) but I imagine it would be a big boost for the standard.
Start your own projects on the side. Or if you don't have any ideas, join an open source project. Unless you're amazingly good at programming you'll probably learn something either way, and, at least for me, that's what makes it fun.
But like anyone else I can only really give you suggestions that would work for me or I know worked for someone else. you have to really discover it again on your own.
Regardless if they do or not, the capability is there. And with newer smartphones, it doesn't even have to be a cell-phone company that does it, there could be an app on your phone that tracks you.
I wonder if you'd get arrested for something like that... I mean on the one hand you've probably assaulted a federal agent. On the other, they are clearly doing something illegal to your car.
I realize that defending the Occupy movement is a rather taboo thing on/., but I'd like to point out that they do know what they want. They want the leaders of our country to start working for the people again, rather than corporations. Which, it seems to me, is something that is a bit of a problem lately.

Ah ok. So it would make sense that they lose it if they are fired.

I stand corrected. What is the difference between unvested stock and normal stock, if I may ask?
Oh I agree completely. I'm just pointing out that this is what they told their employees.
We know that now. Do you think the first people who went to work for them realized it?

Good luck getting a standard judge to understand that.

To be honest I thought that this was what GP said until I went back and read it a second time...

Oh... I don't think they provide service out where I live :(
Who is your provider? You're paying less than I pay for consumer grade internet...

What? You aren't going to post a link to your petition again? ;)

I heard a speaker the other day saying that the 99% is misleading, and they represent more like 80-85% of the people. Still high though.
