    While I'm not to wild about software patents myself, your reasoning is not really usefull. After all, all ideas can be converted to very large numbers. patents forbid you to use that number, they forbid you to use that number _in that context_.

    I'm not sure that's really what's needed, In my html guide it says TT just does monospaced, it doesn't preserve spacing.

     is a solution? For ascii art you could just as easily use . instead of space. However, for code and stuff not having

    I like the idea, but sadly no.... Bandwith isn't the problem, latency is... And btw, it still wouldn't help against autoaim.

    What, and make it illegal to host porn in a non .sex domain? I object to pictures of buildings, does that mean they should all be put in .building? Anyway, this is pretty much impossible to achieve anyway, because there's no way to get global legislation, not even everybody *wants* to buy a domain (yes, there are still people using just ip's), pornography is defined differently everywhere, and basicly the majority of the internet (rightly imnsho) thinks it would be stupid to take the freedom of content from some domains.

    I think the 'fundies' even object to the string "XXX HOT SWEATY SEX WITH PAM".. Actually, can't say I'm to extatic about it either (but that's partially because of the all caps :-) ) but I wouldn't want to censor it.

    What's the big problem? Basicly, the software vendor supports the distro stuff. And for the rest, it's: do you have libxxx installed? No? Install it. Not very hard.

    /me is the happy owner of var.cx, great service these guys give. I can really recommend them, they're a lot cheaper than .com too...

    Only problem (for me) is that you can't login over SSL, and they don't have (I do not like my pw going in plain text), and they don't have a pgp key for when you want to change your pw.

    I doubt it, because as far as I can see the domain servers are located in england, and thus would not be subject to these rules. Anyway, the domain servers wouldn't be the ones providing 'objectionable' content.

    2-3 Times the bandwith? If you're working with only 2 camera's, I'd expect 1.5-2 times the bandwith. (Because compression would work quite well, because the two images would be pretty similar).
