    The encryption of DNS insures your ISP cannot utilize a MITM attack on your DNS query. Privacy isn't being addressed here. It's a security issue

    I bit of misinformation here. The boot loader is locked if you want ChromeOS and Verified Boot. I don't know of any Chrome OS device where you can't re-flash the firmware. After that, you are free to load any OS your heart desires.

    You can always use Crouton until Crostini is stable. It's my go to for CLI work and development.
