I would love to have a hard drive if that meant I could store lots of game save data without having to spend lots extra on solid state storage devices that just can't hack it.
Psx had a tiny hard drive that plugged into the port in the back, providing a ton of extra storage space. I think the ports were removed in the "new" psxs. I haven't seen one for any system since, though.
'The goal might be to get companies that use packet data to have those packets go to one place for purposes of wiretap and other intercept capabilities," Baker said'
If an enormous amount of traffic is being routed through the same pipe(s), I find it hard to believe this won't cause a bottleneck. Sweet, the internet has been way too fast lately.
You're an idiot. Not a RAGING IDIOT, just an idiot. RTFA. Osama explicitly says his only desire is to kill all Americans, and you want to suck his dick.
"The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies -- civilians and military -- is an individual duty for every Muslim "
You're not kidding. This is not a typical war, concerning borders and $$. Osama's goal is simple - Americans have to die. And I suspect, to fuck goats, although it wasn't mentioned in the article.
Interesting to note that the US goes through great lengths to avoid any civilian casualties - in fact, undoubtedly saving lives with food drops - while these 'freedom fighters' celebrate the deaths of women and children. We'll have them all buried in their cavehomes soon.
You fucking cocksucker, the USA bombed Japan near the end of a worldwide WAR, causing their submission and possibly saving many, many lives which would have been lost had the war continued... not during fucking peacetime.
"we are designing the software for the 99 percent of the people who don't want to steal the music"
Fuck you, asshole. I think more than 1% of the population either
a) wants to listen to the cd he legally bought on mp3
b) has a high-end computer/cd/dvd which will balk at the copy protection - Congratulations, it plays on that 1983 system - what about the new-super-system of the week that just got released ?
Always obscuring the real issue - not so much about stealing the music, but total control of the content they sell at absurdly high costs.
IE, If you're taking a class in PERL, then PERL.COM is Extremely Valuable. i thought it was obvious, MY BAD, I should never assume anything with AC trolls. Did u forget to log in ? oh, that's right...
The net is an immensely valuable research tool, especially (but not exclusively) in computer-related classes. Perl.com is better than any programming textbook, no matter how huge it may be. If I can't find the answer to a question, whether it's tech or not, the first place I'll go is Google - the answer is out there, somewhere.
What the fuck is the matter with you people ? Katz lives a short distance from the Site of the disaster... he posts a well-written article about the potential change in perspective in YRO, drawn from his own recent experience... and what follows ? "STFU Katz". Do you even read the articles anymore ? This isn't intended so much as an information piece as it is a thought piece. If you don't have anything interesting to say, then STFU Snapple boy.
Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:
"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth.
Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.
When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.
When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.
The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.
I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why
don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?
Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German
technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon - not once, but several times and safely home again.
You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded.
They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.
When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the
New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.
I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans
in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.
Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."
At what point, do we have to say - enough is enough ?
The majority of people in this world are average citizens. They will live out their lives not specifically enhancing society, nor harming it.
There are also many brilliant, selfless individuals - those who took us the the moon, built such architectural marvels as the World Trade Center towers, and died trying to save those trapped inside.
Unfortunately, we also have to deal with the others - terrorists, corrupt leaders. These people will never contribute to the growth of the planet. They are interested only in their fanatical hatred. A message needs to be sent that we've tolerated this for decaded, and we've had enough. If that means turning Afghanistan into a parking lot, then maybe that's what we have to do.
These Sanctions exist because of previous crimes against humanity perpetrated by Iraq, etc. the US didn't wake up one day and just 'feel like' throwing some embargoes around. Either be a productive member of the world, or be cut off from it.
Arbitration Conditions (September 11, 1986)
Negotiations between both parties extending for several years led in 1986, to a statement of arbitration conditions, which defined arbitration conditions and specific questions to be addressed to the jury, and the number and name of the designated jury members. Following lengthy discussions, a final agreement was reached on the arbitration conditions, which also defined the tribunal's mission and the portions of disputed border points and benchmarks on the recognized international border line between Egypt and Palestine under mandate, in accordance with the Camp David Accord. The conditions provided the award to be passed in this case shall be final and binding.

September 11th was also the date that certain conditions were reached under the Camp David accord, a treaty which terrorist groups have regularly rallied against.
I'm sure Dmitry feels the same way, seeing as how he's the one still sitting in jail. Sorry to cause you the inconvenience of the extra slashdot article.
The general consensus seems to be that cops get paid very poorly, and this is entirely untrue. Like most jobs, cops START around $35-40K. I have a friend who is in the Philadelphia Police academy now, and he showed me a run-down of police salaries. Within 3-5 years and even a single promotion, he expects to be making $60-$80K/Year, not to mention retire by 50 with an insanely massive pension (66% of final salary)...
This has been a common response to the Final Fantasy movie - that the games' plots are deeper. Guess what, give Square 70 hours of gameplay to develop characters & storyline and they're going to create something spectacular, as they have in the past. The movie is around 1:45. You really can't compare the two.
About a week ago, I was driving home on Roosevelt Boulevard (PA - it's six lanes in each direction) around midnight. At the last second, I noticed some nut on a bike, without reflectors, riding in the left lane of the boulevard in the opposite direction of the 45+ mph traffic. It's not just the drivers.
I would love to have a hard drive if that meant I could store lots of game save data without having to spend lots extra on solid state storage devices that just can't hack it.

Reboot system = remove worm from memory
Why not have everyone reboot at midnight (adjusted to your time zone) August 1st ? Seems simple, but it would work.

That's odd, at Microsoft you get in serious trouble if your average creeps above .15 ...
Yes, another shameless Microsoft crack.
