More than just that. Vista (6.0) is to Win7 (6.1) what Netscape 6.0 was to Netscape 6.1. Netscape 6 was a buggy mess based upon a Gecko 0.8 Beta engine, but Netscape 6.1 fixed those bugs when it moved to Gecko 1.0. Likewise Vista acted like it was still in the beta stage.

Vista (NT 6.0) won't even run on the 512 MB it was advertised for. It just randomly freezes for 2-3 minutes while swapping data from the hard drive. But Seven (NT 6.1) runs comfortably in 512 MB. Seven is what Vista should have been at release day.

That's not how it worked. Graphics back then were not planar, but instead the colors were hard-wired into the graphics chip. The C64 had 16 fixed colors. Ditto the Atari 800, though it also had a setting to adjust the luminance. So you had 8 shades of 16 hard-wired colors etched direct to silicon.

Moving from hardware-based color to software-based bitplanes WAS an innovation for the time period (1984-85). It was something new that had not been tried previously (except on high-end $100,000 mainframes).

Well I agree the Constitution has flaws (and that's why it has been amended multiple times), but don't agree we should abandon federalism and put all the power into a single government. As I said, that is the road to tyranny and LESS democracy.

Power should be as close the people represented as possible, in the State government just a few miles away & your representative just down the street or on the next block so you can talk to him. NOT 1500 miles away in some central capitol where the people's voice is ignored & the representative doesn't even live in his home state anymore. (Sure he has a home address but he doesn't actually live there.) There should be LESS power concentrated in the central U.S. or EU government, and more power at the state level. i.e. More federalism & division of power, not less.

As for actual game sales, Sony only sold 17 million copies of GTA San Andreas whereas Nintendo sold almost double that amount. 32 million copies of Mario Kart to those supposed people who "put them in the closet" and never touch the Wii again. It looks like you wrong there too..... they ARE playing the console and buying software.

Of course the reality is many of those "full movies" are just 5 minute videos telling users to go visit some website (usually non-functional). Some of those "full movies" ask for a credit card when you try to watch them & therefore are legitimate/legal (for example American Reunion). That leaves very few actual pirated movies on youtube.

I think the real problem here is trying to overcome Nintendo's dominance. Atari tried. Sega tried. Wonderswan tried. Sony tried (with PSP and then Vita). Nobody's been able to do it because Nintendo has a lock on portable game machines. Maybe because the primary audience for portables is kids (riding on buses, in cars, etc) and that is also Nintendo's primary audience.
